Fantastic 5.0
Choosing a hotel in Melbourne's CBD (Central Business District) offers the ultimate advantage: unparalleled convenience! You'll not only benefit from the Free Tram Zone, making it easy to reach major attractions and hidden laneway cafes, but also enjoy an unbeatable selection of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping. While real estate in the city center is premium, often leading to higher room rates and smaller rooms, the time and energy saved on transportation are absolutely worth it. For first-time visitors to Melbourne or travelers who prefer a lively and convenient location, the CBD is definitely the top choice for exploring this vibrant, culture-rich city!

Fantastic 5.0
I had a wonderful stay at Pegasus Apart’Hotel and would happily stay here again! The room was cleaned daily, always smelled fresh, and was equipped with useful amenities such as a microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, and a mini refrigerator, making my stay very comfortable. Housekeeping regularly changed the towels and linens, made the bed, and refilled toiletries. A few times some coffee sachets were missed, but reception quickly sent refills when requested. I was especially impressed by the staff’s responsiveness. When my hair dryer broke, I called reception and someone came to check it immediately and provided a replacement. The Wi-Fi was stable throughout my stay, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. Although the view from my room wasn’t quite what I expected, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so comfortable and memorable. I will definitely be booking with you again the next time I return.

Super love the apartment! Clean, easy access to public transport, so many halal stalls nearby. Would definitely considering this hotel again in my next visit!

Fantastic 5.0
The room was clean and equipped with a microwave and a capsule coffee machine. It was also quite spacious. However, it was located on a lower floor, sometimes requiring a detour to get around. To reach the train station, you had to climb stairs to an upper level, making the walk a bit less convenient than expected.

Fantastic 5.0
Literally at the center of everything. Close to tram station, it’s also beside bettys burger. There are so manu convenience store and chemist warehouse nearby and the exciting part is it’s so near the flinders street and station! The breakfast is also okay, the rooms are clean. Perfect stay overall!

Fantastic 5.0
The location is convenient and close to the city center. It's a 3-minute walk to Victoria Market, and getting to other attractions in the city center is just as quick and easy. The room is excellent and spacious. The bedroom, bathroom, and living room all feel very roomy. There's also a dining table, microwave, and refrigerator for preparing simple meals. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

More about Melbourne hotels

Staying in Melbourne: price spread and sweet spot

Staying in Melbourne shows a noticeable gap between the most affordable and the most premium options — roughly 2.5 times from bottom to top — so you can trade up significantly for extra comfort. The best balance for value sits in the premium tier, which tends to deliver the strongest middle ground between cost and comfort.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms sit at the entry level and are the cheapest option for travellers keeping costs low. Standard rooms step up from that with a bit more space or finish, aimed at travellers who want modest comfort without a big price jump. The premium tier is the best-value sweet spot and represents a meaningful upgrade over standard, appealing to guests who want a noticeably better stay for a reasonable extra outlay. The largest price leap happens from premium to luxury, so deciding whether that final jump is worth it is the key choice for travellers seeking a top-end experience.

When travellers from Singapore usually book

Singapore travellers typically book about 26 days ahead, with a trend towards locking in earlier for the busiest pricing periods. Rates are typically lowest in September and highest in October; if you’re on a budget, planning your trip in September or around that lower-rate window will usually stretch your money further.
