Fantastic 5.0
I had a wonderful stay at Pegasus Apart’Hotel and would happily stay here again! The room was cleaned daily, always smelled fresh, and was equipped with useful amenities such as a microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, and a mini refrigerator, making my stay very comfortable. Housekeeping regularly changed the towels and linens, made the bed, and refilled toiletries. A few times some coffee sachets were missed, but reception quickly sent refills when requested. I was especially impressed by the staff’s responsiveness. When my hair dryer broke, I called reception and someone came to check it immediately and provided a replacement. The Wi-Fi was stable throughout my stay, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. Although the view from my room wasn’t quite what I expected, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so comfortable and memorable. I will definitely be booking with you again the next time I return.

Fantastic 5.0
Choosing a hotel in Melbourne's CBD (Central Business District) offers the ultimate advantage: unparalleled convenience! You'll not only benefit from the Free Tram Zone, making it easy to reach major attractions and hidden laneway cafes, but also enjoy an unbeatable selection of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping. While real estate in the city center is premium, often leading to higher room rates and smaller rooms, the time and energy saved on transportation are absolutely worth it. For first-time visitors to Melbourne or travelers who prefer a lively and convenient location, the CBD is definitely the top choice for exploring this vibrant, culture-rich city!

Very comfy and spacious, close to the southern cross station so transit was smooth, walkable distance to museums, CBD, and other spots in the city centre

Fantastic 5.0
It is our first time to stay on an ibis hotel and it did not disappoint. The location is near the trams and train station. There are a lot of food sources nearby. The check-in/check-out was a breeze. We were able to map out where to stroll and dine with the help of the very accomodating front desk. We will surely stay again on an ibis hotel in the future.

More about Melbourne hotels

What staying in Melbourne feels like

Staying in Melbourne offers a clear but comfortable price spread: the top luxury rooms run about 2.5 times the price of the most affordable economy options, so moving up the scale meaningfully raises the bill. The best value tends to sit in the premium tier, which balances cost and quality for most travellers.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms are the most budget-friendly option and sit well below the city’s median rates, suiting travellers who prioritise price over extras. Standard rooms step up modestly from economy and appeal to those wanting a bit more comfort without a big jump in cost. The premium tier represents the sweet spot and is where the biggest value is found; it’s a sensible choice for visitors wanting better quality without stretching to the top. The largest price leap occurs when moving from premium to luxury, making luxury stays a distinct decision best reserved for travellers wanting a noticeably more premium experience.

When travellers from Australia usually book

For travellers from Australia, rooms are typically booked around 12 days ahead, though last-minute bookings remain possible within a few days. Rates are cheapest in September and most expensive in October; if you’re budgeting, a September stay generally works best.
