Sensoji Temple

Located in Asakusa district, Tokyo, Sensoji Temple, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple, is Tokyo's oldest temple and a sacred spot across Japan, drawing more than 30 million visitors each year. According to legend, over 1,400 years ago during the Edo period, two brothers discovered a statue of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, while fishing in the Sumida River. No matter how many times they returned the statue to the water, it kept coming back to them. That's why Sensoji Temple was built nearby in 645, making it the oldest temple in Tokyo and a Shinto shrine dedicated to Kannon. Throughout the year, the temple grounds host exciting events like the Sanja Matsuri festival in May, the Asakusa Samba Carnival in August, and the traditional Hagoita Market, where decorative paddles are sold for a fun game called hanetsuki. I had a great time at the Salon Eclat. My therapist was thorough, skillful, and gentle. The carbonated head spa was relaxing and didn’t require me to dry or adjust my hair afterwords. This salon’s space is small and spare; don’t look for an expansive open floor plan with pricey decor. Yet, it uses high-end products and provides a thoughtful service where your every need is anticipated. It is worth the price and I will visit again amenities:

Fantastic 5.0
The location is excellent; the subway, convenience stores, shopping area, and train station are all very close. There's also a direct connection to the airport, and many good restaurants. However, the rooms are really small (small double room). Although this is common, my husband brought a top-opening suitcase, and I had a regular one, and basically neither could be fully opened. The top-opening one could barely manage. Packing on the last day was really frustrating 😫. There's no bottled water provided in the room; you have to buy it yourself. The room was very stuffy, so we had to open the window at night, but it was very noisy outside. Check-out time is 10 a.m., which I personally think is a bit early. You can leave your luggage after check-out. The breakfast is simple, but still quite delicious, and the service staff were all pretty good!

Fantastic 5.0
Our stay at this Shinagawa tower hotel was a fantastic experience, especially traveling with my 11-year-old son! The hotel itself is almost like an entertainment hub—it was so cool having a full bowling alley and an aqua center right on-site, which kept my son completely entertained. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a great variety of options. However, a quick tip for future travelers: make sure to get there early because the dining area can get quite hectic during peak morning hours. We also loved having a 7-Eleven downstairs right in the building. It was incredibly convenient for grabbing random snacks, drinks, and quick treats at any time of the day. Another huge plus for families is the large coin laundry facility on the premises, which made managing our clothes halfway through the trip effortless. Despite the layout being a bit confusing at first for airport pickups, the excellent amenities, convenient shops, and great food made this a perfect base for our Tokyo adventures!
