Our tour guide, Liu Mei, and our Brazilian-Japanese driver took us on a day trip today to Hida Takayama, and then to Shirakawa-go. We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Liu and the driver because when we spontaneously asked to visit a museum in Hida, they showed the utmost consideration and helped us make it happen. This has truly been the most memorable experience of our trip to Japan so far. The guide was clear, and the driver drove very safely, making every effort to ensure everyone was comfortable throughout the journey. We also learned a lot, thank you! We highly recommend this day trip; my wife loved it too :))

What a fantastic experience! This was my first time joining a Klook day tour abroad. The night before the trip, seeing the pre-departure instructions sent by the tour guide via email made me feel much more at ease. Throughout the journey, our guide, Mr. Wang, fluently introduced the attractions and provided various reminders to travelers in Chinese, English, and Japanese. He was very professional! The entire itinerary ran very smoothly, and the timing was perfectly managed. Although Shirakawa-go in the summer doesn't have its classic snow-covered scenery, the lush green landscape offers a different kind of beauty.

Guide Hemi was a very chilled and the entire trip was easy going and smooth flowing. Thanks to his foresight on the weather changes, our group fully enjoyed the clear view of the Northern Alps! On May 16, 2026, I took a one-day group tour, and the weather was absolutely beautiful 🌞. Our tour guide, Harry, was British, very kind and enthusiastic, and our fellow travelers were also very nice. Harry reminded us when to meet at each attraction and enthusiastically helped us take photos. With this tour, there's no need to worry about buying cable car tickets or transportation to the cable car; Klook handles all the arrangements. We took two cable cars up to Kamikochi, where we could gaze at the distant high mountains from above, seeing Japan's Alps – it was truly stunning! Because the weather was so incredibly good, we even saw the very distant Mount Haku, and our guide said we were very lucky to see it. Then we went to Taisho Pond to see its clear stream, and walked to Kappa Bridge to view the same mountains from a different perspective. The scenery along the entire route was breathtakingly beautiful! It's definitely worth a visit! 👍

Location was superb, being right next to the train station, which was why I booked it. The public foot bath on the top floor was also very welcome, especially as I had just come in from Kamikochi. 6 mins walk away is Cafe Rin-Rin, a mom and pop cafe that felt like you were stepping back in time, and served delicious french toast. The room was comfortable and good-sized for a solo traveller, and the washing machine was a godsend. The only thing that was very annoying was the lamp sitting over the small table, as I kept hitting my head on it. It was at a very inconvenient spot and height.

The apartment hotel room has a washer-dryer combo, a kitchen for cooking, and a bathtub. You can also get free hot spring tickets at the front desk to use at a hotel that's a 13-minute walk away. The only downside is that the dryer isn't very effective; clothes were still a bit damp after six hours of drying.
