Shirakawa-go Line Bus Non-Reserved Seat Ticket

e-ticket was good. no need to queue to buy bus tickets. the open air museum is beautiful. as it was raining the whole day when we visited, there was no snow at all: if not, it will look magical. the museum package by Nohi Bus came with ¥100 discount for ice cream and red bean soup. having hot red bean soup inside the hut is a good experience and warm us up. there are free green tea and water offered in the hut too.

all reserved tickets were sold out so we took our chance for this open ticket. we waited from 7am at nohi bus terminal. the first non reserved bus supposed to leave at 850am but ours left at 815, not bad. redemption is as stated on the voucher.

It's convenient; you just show it when you get on the bus, and it's not too difficult. Shirakawa-go is quite beautiful, and it's really enjoyable to spend a day there. I'll buy this again next time I visit in winter.

Mobile ticketing is convenient because you don't need to go to the counter to exchange it. But go queue up earlier, because it is unreserved seating, and the bus may depart when full and the frequency is lower... On our return trip from Shirakawa-go, we wanted to take the 4:30 PM bus, arrived on time but it was already full and departed, the next bus was at 5:30 PM. If you want a more precise itinerary, please purchase a reserved seat bus.

Saved me from the hassle of purchasing tickets at the bus centers. The lines can be long. The only thing I needed to be mindful of is the availability and the schedule of the “non-reserved / open seat buses.” If you’re doing DIY from Nagoya, better to plan properly as it could make or break your itinerary and spend more money. Another thing I appreciate too is if you didn’t make it to the bus at this certain schedule, there’ll be additional buses to board the next set of passengers on.

It was really easy to find the bus station and the ride there was smooth and good. It was raining when we visit Shirakawa-go but still worth the visit.

After you buy your ticket, just go to the station and line up to get on the bus. There are many buses, some with seats and others with auxiliary seats in the aisle. Enjoy your trip, and don't worry about the times on the schedule.

reserved seats are great specially if your a group or with kids. very comfortable ride, our family had a great time at this beautiful place. we will surely come back next time.
