Fantastic 5.0
Booked this Chichen Itza tour from Cancun and had a great experience overall. Pickup was at 5:15 AM, and the van was comfortable enough to nap during the 2-hr drive. One of the highlights was arriving early at Chichen Itza before the crowds. Our guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about Mayan history, while our driver, Razel, made the journey smooth and comfortable. After Chichen Itza, we stopped at a cenote for swimming, lunch, and tequila tasting. The cenote and tequila tasting were enjoyable, but the buffet lunch was disappointing and below average. The final stop was Valladolid, a charming town and a nice addition to the itinerary. We returned to our hotel around 6:00 PM. It’s a full 12-hr day, but well worth it for anyone wanting to learn about Mayan civilization and visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Great 4.0
There was an issue with the Klook listing. It stated that a buffet lunch was included, but after I booked the tickets, the details showed that the buffet lunch was not included in the price. In the end, we had to pay extra for the buffet lunch on the day of the tour, but the food provided was absolutely not worth the price the restaurant charged. It was very disappointing. The tour guide had a very strong English accent. My husband, who has lived in the United States for nearly 30 years, could only understand about half of what he said. We often couldn't tell if he was speaking English or Spanish, though we could definitely feel the guide's dedication. We departed from downtown Cancun, and it was a truly packed itinerary. We had to be at the meeting point at 4:45 AM and didn't return until around 8:30 PM. It was an exhausting day. Because Chichen Itza was unexpectedly closed that day, the guide took us to Ek Balam instead. We didn't realize we were running out of water and ended up suffering from heatstroke after about half an hour without rehydrating. The weather that day was incredibly hot, which meant we didn't have the energy to properly explore Ek Balam. All we wanted was to get back to the entrance as quickly as possible to buy water. The planning by the staff at Ek Balam wasn't great; many ruins didn't have English explanations, and there was no place to buy water inside the site, only at the entrance and the parking lot. We hadn't planned on actually swimming in the Chichikan cenote, but we were surprised that the staff even required us to pay for a life vest and locker just to dip our feet in the water. Otherwise, we weren't allowed to enter at all and could only view the cenote from the observation deck. Since the water quality inside wasn't very clean, we decided not to go in after all.

Fantastic 5.0
Visiting the archaeological site of Tulum, Cobá, and finishing with the indoor cenote where we could swim in the cave was incredible. It's truly an experience not to be missed. I also want to thank Kevin, our guide, who was super kind and very funny. I really enjoyed spending the day with him and the group. Thanks also to our driver José, who transported us all day. 💙🇲🇽

The tour was over 3 hour drive from Cancun but the bus tour was very comfortable. Holbox Island has a very nice and calm beach.

What to know before visiting Cancún

Quick snapshot of Cancún and what to do

Cancún is a sun-and-sea destination whose busiest months concentrate in the Northern Hemisphere winter; Tours, Water activities and Attraction passes make up the top bookings and shape the year’s visitor rhythm. Demand on Klook peaks in the January period and drops to a low in September, so activity schedules vary between a lively high season and a much quieter late-summer trough.

Best times to visit and how prices move

Klook booking data shows January is the peak month for demand, while September is the trough. Prices trend upward through the early part of the year and reach their highest on Klook around May, while November typically records the lowest activity prices. If you want lower prices and smaller crowds, aim for the quieter autumn shoulder months such as September–November; if you prefer peak-season atmosphere and the most happening tours and water activities, plan for January. Note that demand and prices do not move in perfect sync here: peak bookings fall in January while the priciest activity rates on Klook are usually seen later in May.

Tips for travellers from Singapore

Most travellers from Singapore typically book about five days ahead, with many able to book last-minute within a day and some securing earlier plans around three weeks out. For short-notice flexibility, many Tours and Water activities are available close to travel dates, but if you plan to visit in the peak month of January consider locking popular experiences in earlier. Use Klook to compare timing and prices so you can balance crowd levels and costs for your trip.
