Fantastic 5.0
Booked this Chichen Itza tour from Cancun and had a great experience overall. Pickup was at 5:15 AM, and the van was comfortable enough to nap during the 2-hr drive. One of the highlights was arriving early at Chichen Itza before the crowds. Our guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about Mayan history, while our driver, Razel, made the journey smooth and comfortable. After Chichen Itza, we stopped at a cenote for swimming, lunch, and tequila tasting. The cenote and tequila tasting were enjoyable, but the buffet lunch was disappointing and below average. The final stop was Valladolid, a charming town and a nice addition to the itinerary. We returned to our hotel around 6:00 PM. It’s a full 12-hr day, but well worth it for anyone wanting to learn about Mayan civilization and visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Great 4.0
There was an issue with the Klook listing. It stated that a buffet lunch was included, but after I booked the tickets, the details showed that the buffet lunch was not included in the price. In the end, we had to pay extra for the buffet lunch on the day of the tour, but the food provided was absolutely not worth the price the restaurant charged. It was very disappointing. The tour guide had a very strong English accent. My husband, who has lived in the United States for nearly 30 years, could only understand about half of what he said. We often couldn't tell if he was speaking English or Spanish, though we could definitely feel the guide's dedication. We departed from downtown Cancun, and it was a truly packed itinerary. We had to be at the meeting point at 4:45 AM and didn't return until around 8:30 PM. It was an exhausting day. Because Chichen Itza was unexpectedly closed that day, the guide took us to Ek Balam instead. We didn't realize we were running out of water and ended up suffering from heatstroke after about half an hour without rehydrating. The weather that day was incredibly hot, which meant we didn't have the energy to properly explore Ek Balam. All we wanted was to get back to the entrance as quickly as possible to buy water. The planning by the staff at Ek Balam wasn't great; many ruins didn't have English explanations, and there was no place to buy water inside the site, only at the entrance and the parking lot. We hadn't planned on actually swimming in the Chichikan cenote, but we were surprised that the staff even required us to pay for a life vest and locker just to dip our feet in the water. Otherwise, we weren't allowed to enter at all and could only view the cenote from the observation deck. Since the water quality inside wasn't very clean, we decided not to go in after all.

Fantastic 5.0
Visiting the archaeological site of Tulum, Cobá, and finishing with the indoor cenote where we could swim in the cave was incredible. It's truly an experience not to be missed. I also want to thank Kevin, our guide, who was super kind and very funny. I really enjoyed spending the day with him and the group. Thanks also to our driver José, who transported us all day. 💙🇲🇽

It was a spectacular tour. Mr. Carlos Moo was an excellent guide; he taught us a lot about Mayan culture and was super attentive to everyone. He speaks many languages!

What to know before visiting Cancún

Top experiences overview

Cancún is best known for its Tours and Water activities, with Tours leading booking volume throughout the year and water-based outings staying popular especially in the high season. Demand peaks in February and falls to its lowest in September, so the city’s busiest months amplify choices for guided excursions and attraction passes.

Activities by traveller type

Families will find Museums and Zoos & aquariums easy, budget-friendly options alongside family-oriented Tours that cater to group needs. Couples often favour Tours and Attraction passes for curated experiences and flexible sightseeing that suit a romantic or celebratory trip. Solo travellers and small groups can pick from a wide range of Tours and Water activities — these categories are well suited to meeting people, trying active experiences, or booking spontaneous day trips.

What travellers from Singapore book ahead

Most travellers from Singapore keep plans flexible in Cancún: with a typical booking window of around five days, many experiences can be picked up a day or two before travel. The earliest planners still tend to book about three weeks ahead, and that extra lead time is helpful in February, when demand peaks and popular Tours and attraction options are busiest.

Category comparison

Museums sit at the entry-level price point and are the easiest way into Cancún’s cultural side, while Attraction passes skew toward the priciest and also offer the widest range of price options. Tours occupy a mid-range position but dominate bookings, balancing value and variety, and Water activities typically fall near the mid-to-low price band while appealing to active travellers. If you want the broadest choice across price and experiences, Attraction passes show the largest spread; for the most budget-friendly visits, Museums are the simplest pick.
