The stairs leading up to Moon World are under construction, so you can only go part of the way. It seems to be lit up at night, so I think it would be even more impressive if you came then. Afterward, the tour takes you to the Folk Culture Village and Qishan Old Street, and finally drops you off in Kaohsiung's Bay Area. This was a great tour because it covered a route I couldn't have done on my own. Our guide arranged a Lei Cha (pounded tea) experience for us at the Folk Culture Village, which was a wonderful experience. In the Bay Area, they also showed us where SunnyHills is located. The guide provides a lot of information, but while walking, it's more of a self-guided experience, so I think it's more enjoyable if you do some research beforehand.

It's really worth the while to join this tour as we covered all the important locations in Kaohsiung. Our guide, Woody, was kind enough to take our photos and let us discover each place at our own pace with ample time to cover all areas in the itinerary. The ride was also comfortable. Definitely enjoyable but not in a hurried manner.

I'd like to clarify the schedule for other travelers, as the official website and brochure aren't very detailed. The 10:40 AM departure arrives at Hongmaogang at 11:20 AM. If you plan to have lunch at the revolving restaurant, you'll need to call ahead for a reservation. You can book for 11:30 AM, which also helps you avoid the hot sun. For the return trip, you need to gather at the Hongmaogang waiting room by 1:40 PM, and the return departure time is 1:50 PM. Most importantly, you will arrive back at the original departure point at 2:30 PM after a 40-minute boat ride (not 1:50 PM).

Since you can ride on the bike path rather than a scooter, this route is better if you're going to Bo'er. However, if you're traveling about 10 kilometers, the battery will only have about 30-40% left, so you should swap it out before entering Cijin Island.

Mr. Wu arrived and waited for us before our scheduled reservation time. He was very kind and provided detailed explanations, guiding us through the tour with an optimized itinerary. As a native of Kaohsiung, he showed us hidden charms in every corner and even introduced us to unexpected, hidden gems, making the experience even more memorable. We hadn't even mentioned a lunch spot, but he took us to a beef noodle restaurant we really wanted to try, which was incredibly thoughtful. The weather was also very clear and sunny, making it pleasant to get around. He dropped us off at locations we requested on short notice both during and at the end of the tour, allowing us to conclude our itinerary richly. I feel like I made an excellent decision booking this tour, as I got to know Kaohsiung thoroughly.

This was the highlight of our trip to Taiwan. Our tour guide Charlie reached out via WhatsApp two days before to confirm our trip. He arrived early the day of our trip. Charlie started our trip with local fruit He got for us before he arrived. Then took us for a local boba. Charlie went above and beyond and made the tour that much more special. He is very knowledgeable and proudly tells you about every place on the itinerary. He speaks English and Chinese very well. I plan on recommending Charlie to everyone I know taking a trip to Southern Taiwan. Overall it was a great and memorable experience. Thank you Charlie for everything!

This was the best massage I've ever had! The 70-minute program offered by Klook was excellent value for money. The person who took care of me, a female team leader perhaps, accurately identified and repeatedly massaged the areas where I was experiencing pain (knots). If you have the money, I highly recommend this experience. If you have two people, it’s much cheaper as well (it was just me though). I’ve done this in Taipei and at EuropaPark theme park in Germany so it was cool to see the history of this this experience originated. Staff are friendly and speak English. Recommend using Klook and must book at least one day in advance (earlier spots are less busy). It’s a little out there location wise but I eventually found it.

We booked this 1-day Kaohsiung Fun Pass for a last-minute, spontaneous day trip. We didn’t have time to reserve any day tours or private drivers, so this pass ended up being incredibly handy!
It is completely digital and activated through the Taiwan Fun Pass app. It is super convenient because you just use the app's QR code to hop on buses and trains, and to get easy access into the tourist spots. The app is also really helpful because it gives you a full list of the available attractions so you know exactly what your options are for the day.
To be completely honest, if you aren't planning to pack your schedule and use the pass to its fullest, it might be just as cost-effective to DIY and pay at the counter. But if you value convenience and want to avoid the hassle of buying individual tickets or fumbling for commute fares, this is definitely worth it. It’s so nice to just pull up the QR code and go!
