Fantastic 5.0
The trip was an excellent introduction to Alishan. We only have a few hours there which was quite short but the place was absolutely beautiful and the weather was so cooling. A definite must go. The only improvement I would have suggested would be to cut out Fenqihu and spend more time at Alishan if possible. Our guide Humphrey was wonderful and pleasant. He took his time to explain the history and always made sure we had what we needed. The bus we sat on was very comfortable and clean.

Everything went smoothly, and we had a wonderful time discovering the beautiful places in Taichung. Sophie made sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment of the tour. Thank you, Sophie, for making our trip memorable! 💗 Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taichung through Klook. Definitely a great experience! ✨

Hi. I would recommend our driver Andy! He is well versed in different languages. He tried to have small conversations with us and even explain to us the history about each venue. The car is comfortable and he really knows which playlist to choose to play in the car to keep away the awkwardness with other passengers around. Thumbs up!!

The Alishan tour departing from Taichung HSR Station was extremely smooth. After taking the high-speed rail, our driver-guide met us at the meeting point. Along the way, there were a few rest stops for restroom breaks or meals. We highly recommend our driver-guide, Xiao Xin. The mountain roads to Alishan are truly winding, which is why I had wanted to visit for a long time but never dared to drive myself. However, his driving skills are excellent; sitting in the very back of the 9-seater van, I didn't feel carsick at all. Best of all, we could sleep in the car and wake up right in Alishan—it was so comfortable! The scenery in Alishan is breathtaking, a must-visit destination in one's lifetime! The guide provided very detailed explanations of Alishan and shared many interesting stories. He also guided us along an easier, downhill walking route so we wouldn't feel too exhausted, and along the way, he helped take many wonderful photos. He even compiled them into a video and sent us the photos to keep as memories—he is truly dedicated! (As for sharing, the guide took some personal photos that I won't make public, so I'm posting the ones I took myself, some of which used photography techniques shared by the guide). On the return trip, perhaps to keep us from getting bored, the guide prepared some jokes, which made it a lot of fun 😆. The itinerary was well-planned, the guide was humorous and engaging, transportation was convenient, and it offered incredible value. I highly recommend everyone to check out this day tour!

Fantastic 5.0
Highly recommended for Koreans!!!!!! The Korean-language tour wasn't available on the date I wanted, so I ended up choosing this tour instead, and it was such a great choice!!! First of all, it was so nice that they picked us up directly from our hotel instead of having us gather at a meeting point haha. The tour was held privately with just 6 people in total—me, my mom (2 people), and a Chinese family of 4. The car was super spacious and air-conditioned, which was great! The driver couldn't speak Korean, but he explained everything well using a translator and some English haha. What truly touched me was that I had lost my wallet at the night market the day before T.T. When the driver heard about that, he said that after the tour ended, he would go with me to the night market to ask the vendors, kept calling the police station in between to check if any lost items had been turned in, and even offered to go with me to the police station to help file a report after the tour. We didn't end up going because we figured we wouldn't find it even if we went to the night market T.T., but he kept trying to help us, which really touched both me and my mom haha. Also, the Chinese family traveling with us translated between the driver and us in English and even bought us drinks lol. They were worried about my lost wallet together with us! Anyway, I had a total mental breakdown the day before after losing my wallet, all my exchanged cash, and several cards, but during the tour, my mind actually eased up, and I met good people and had a wonderful tour!!! I didn't know ferry tickets were included, but they were! The price is also reasonable, so Korean folks planning to visit Sun Moon Lake and Gaomei Wetlands, please use this tour!!!!! The itinerary proceeded as follows: a huge temple at Sun Moon Lake ➡️ Sun Moon Lake Visitor Center? (cool and good for a short rest) ➡️ Sun Moon Lake ferry (basic 3-stop course) ➡️ pineapple cake shop (no purchase required, has a restroom) ➡️ Gaomei Wetlands, and they dropped us off right in front of our hotel at the end haha. Oh, and you can use WhatsApp for communication before the tour~~

Super worth the roadtrip!!! My original booking was cancelled because we were only 2 travelers and did not make the minimum (6pax). They suggested a different day to accommodate us. Glad I insisted on pushing this package because not sure if you can DIY this 😅This trip is very intimate and recommended for slow travelers. Asin is very helpful, he's a great driver and guide. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ease of locating the meeting point and although there is no tour guide provided on this day tour, it is very self-sufficient. The tour to Sun Moon Lake is enjoyable with lots of food choices. But for those who would like to explore the island by cable car, ferry or the bus, this half day tour may not be enough. The other half day is to visit a chocolate factory, stopover for donuts at a cafe and a visit to Paper Dome.

What to know before visiting Taichung

What to do in Taichung year-round

Taichung draws travellers with Theme parks, Events & shows and Massages as the top booked activities on Klook, followed by Playgrounds and Tours. The city's booking rhythm peaks in April and falls to a low in August, so the calendar affects what you find open and busy. Klook booking data shows Theme parks dominate through the busier spring months while Events & shows spike around April; Massages and Playgrounds are steady choices for quieter months. Decide whether you prioritise lively festival atmosphere or calmer sightseeing — Klook booking data helps time your trip for either mood.

Best months to visit Taichung

April is the busiest month on Klook, with demand rising sharply, while August registers the deepest quiet compared with a typical month. Prices across the year drift down after the autumn peak in November and reach their low in January, so high demand in April does not perfectly align with the priciest month.
