Great 4.0
This time we stayed in a cabin, and the facilities were quite complete. There were also many children's playrooms, and the area was very large and fun. The only downside was that the pillows were a bit too high, otherwise it would have been perfect. The cabin had air conditioning, which was very cool, and there was also a large and fun golf course.

The staff is very friendly. There were very few people visiting two days before Lunar New Year's Eve (Saturday), so we could enjoy ourselves to the fullest! We happened to catch a Klook buy-one-get-one-free ticket deal, which was super cost-effective! Children above elementary school age can be left to play on their own, and there are parent seating areas outside each zone. Parents of elementary school-aged children don't need to waste money buying companion tickets. There is also a small outdoor children's playground in the plaza on the first floor, where you can purchase a voucher for six amusement facilities. The original price is NT$300, but the add-on price is only NT$240. Convenience of booking with Klook: High. You can buy and redeem it for immediate use on-site, which is more cost-effective than buying tickets on-site! Facilities: Many Experience: Great. The kids played from 1:40 PM until almost 6:00 PM in the evening before leaving.

With temperatures around 17 degrees Celsius in April, you'll need light warm clothing for hiking in Dasyueshan (Great Snow Mountain). When you stop, add a windbreaker. The area is not crowded, and the air is fresh, making it ideal for summer hiking. Cell phone reception is poor in the mountains, so always hike with a companion, download offline maps, and prioritize safety.

We really had fun! Even though we visited during the rainy season— and it was raining really hard during our small trail, it still made our experience memorable! Our guide, Captain Cook was very funny and very informative! He is also very friendly! He drives really well too! We are thinking of coming back again during the spring season (I think this will be the best time to visit alishan because of the flowers 🥰) Overall, this trip is definitely worth it! We hope you get Captain Cook as your guide! 💗🥰

Bear Fishing Fun Pier is a unique family-friendly attraction in Taichung, and the only fishing-themed tourist factory in Taiwan. Through interactive exhibits, simulated fishing experiences, and DIY activities, children can learn about marine ecosystems and fishing culture while playing. The environment is clean and comfortable, with abundant facilities, making it suitable for a half-day trip regardless of the weather. It's a high-quality attraction that combines educational value with entertainment.

Fantastic 5.0
This is a great place for edutainment, worth exploring again and again. The museum is divided into many different themed areas, and the exhibits in each theme hall are wonderfully and thoughtfully presented. However, some theme halls are not suitable for very young children, leading to constant crying and making it difficult to fully appreciate the exhibits, which is quite a shame. Some areas, such as the Life Sciences Hall, contain mummies and anthropomorphic sarcophagi, which can easily affect young children who are more sensitive. Parents are advised to think carefully and perhaps avoid this section, returning when their children are older and can better understand the exhibits. We suggest that the museum consider dividing visitors by age for different sections. It would also be beneficial to set up a play area, providing a temporary resting spot for children and parents. This is a museum worth revisiting and savoring.

Fantastic 5.0
The tightrope walk at the beginning was very tense to watch, and the performer even fell in the middle, but thankfully managed to hold on. Although there were mats underneath, I'm not sure if it was a budget issue, but they only covered about two-thirds of the length. The entire performance was very entertaining. Photography and videography were not allowed during the show, but afterward, you could take free photos with the performers and horses, with optional tips. Aside from the clown act, where you had to cheer along, which was a bit boring, the overall experience was worth the ticket price ($380). It's even more worthwhile to buy the couple's package here. On weekdays, there are actually very few tourists, so there's no need to pay more than $380, as seats at that price are already quite close to the front. However, some of the chairs were broken and uncomfortable, suggesting a lack of funds for repairs. The troupe members were very enthusiastic, greeting us with bright smiles when we went for photos. Even though we didn't tip much, their professionalism and friendliness left a deep impression on me.

A great place to visit when hiking Baxianshan! The restrooms are very clean, and the roads are well-planned! There are also easy-to-walk trails! You can also enjoy afternoon tea and visit the scenic area! The ticket price, which includes parking, is a great value!

What to know before visiting Taichung

Quick snapshot of Taichung and what to expect

Taichung is a lively city where theme parks, events & shows, massages and family-friendly playgrounds dominate bookings on Klook. Demand swings through the year with a clear spring peak and much lower interest in late summer, so the rhythm of visitors is quite seasonal.

Best times to visit Taichung and how prices move

According to Klook booking data, April is the busiest month while August is the quietest, with demand tapering off through summer and picking up again in spring. Prices don’t always follow demand: Klook’s past prices were typically highest in July, while April appears among the cheaper months on record. If you want smaller crowds and lower typical prices, consider visiting in April or the surrounding spring months; for peak-season atmosphere aim for April when demand is strongest, but be aware prices can be higher in mid-summer even if fewer people are booking then.

Tips for travellers from Australia

Most travellers from Australia typically book activities just a couple of days ahead, so Taichung suits flexible, short-notice planning—many experiences can be arranged close to your arrival. If you’re travelling in the busy April period, allow a bit more lead time and lock in favourites earlier; otherwise use Klook to compare and secure activities when you’re ready.
