Things to do in Fukuoka Prefecture

An unforgettable experience exploring some of Kyushu’s most beautiful natural attractions! Mt. Aso was breathtaking, and the vast Kusasenri grasslands offered spectacular scenery. Takachiho Gorge was another highlight, with its dramatic cliffs, beautiful river, and stunning waterfalls. Every destination was worth the journey! Our tour guide, Daisy, was fantastic! She gave informative explanations about the places we visited and was very lively, cheerful, and entertaining. Her enthusiasm and friendly personality made the long journey enjoyable. She certainly added something special to the whole experience. she even gave us hot spring powder as a token after the tour. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to discover the natural beauty of Kyushu. A memorable tour from beginning to end!

Buying tickets online in advance is very convenient, as the on-site ticket lines are very long. When the staff saw that I had an electronic voucher, they told me to go straight to the entrance to scan the QR code, and getting in was very fast. The kids had a great time. We bought ice cream with a souvenir cup and chose the limited-edition design, which the kids loved. Since it was close to Halloween, there was a stamp rally event where kids could scare the staff to earn a stamp; after collecting five stamps, they could go to the information desk to exchange them for a large sticker, and the kids were thrilled. In a pink shop (I don't know the name of the shop, but it sells little girls' accessories, shopping bags, etc.), with a purchase of 2,500 yen or more, children could get their nails painted for free, which made them very happy. The nail polish washed off pretty much after taking a bath. An unforgettable memory, highly recommended.

The baby seals and dolphins are so cute and smart, I totally fell in love with them and even watched their show twice! Aside from them, there are also sharks, penguins, turtles, and many other aquatic animals. The admission fee is very reasonable, and there is a souvenir shop as well. Anyone visiting Fukuoka should definitely not forget to check out Marine World.

Although the lottery reservation system two weeks in advance made me think this place would be packed, I found upon arrival that the crowd control was excellent. There was no pressure from long queues, making for a very comfortable visiting experience. While Fukuoka Tower may not be the tallest building we've ever conquered, the panoramic views from this glass tower are truly on par with any famous landmark. The sunlight glinting off the distant ocean, city buildings, and elevated bridges, combined with the lush greenery nearby and stunning cumulonimbus clouds, offers a breathtaking vista of the entire city of Fukuoka, which is truly refreshing. Visiting the tallest building in every new city is a travel tradition my child and I have always maintained. Watching him excitedly stride across the floor in front of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows at Fukuoka Tower, I felt this habit added another wonderful parent-child memory. If you're planning a trip to Fukuoka, I highly recommend adding Fukuoka Tower to your itinerary. Remember to make your reservation online in advance (it's a lottery system); good views are worth waiting for and even more worth experiencing in person.

totally worth the day trip. I highly suggest booking this if you want to experience the yufuin no mori train since it’s hard to get tickets. our tour guide Nicole was very organized and explained the history of each location well. her recommendations were also a must try

Tour guide Ms. Kong was humorous, engaging, and very knowledgeable about local customs and traditions. The driver was extremely polite and friendly, and greeted every passenger each time we got off the bus! Everything has returned to normal following the Kumamoto earthquakes! Sightseeing and tourism are completely fine, there aren't many tourists, and the attractions are very pleasant to walk around. Joining a day tour when traveling independently allows you to visit many places that are inconvenient to reach by public transportation! The itinerary was Aso Kusasenri -> Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine -> Takachiho Torokko Train -> Takachiho Gorge stroll. The Takachiho Torokko Train requires an additional payment of 2,300 yen per person! The weather was still quite hot in late October, so everything was lush and green, but the local scenery was great to see! Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine was my absolute favorite—it has such an amazing atmosphere!

The tour was nice. We were able to cover everything. Our tour guide Jino, was so accommodating. He made sure our orders were all served. He helped us take photos and also checks on us from time to time, on how we are doing. I recommend this tour if you visit Fukuoka! 😊

It rained during our travel so we didnt get to see much view at the top of Beppu Ropeway. Yufuin floral village is good but I we enjoyed the food more around the area. We did not get to go to Mt.Aso creater due to high level alert but we get to see one side/part of it. Still a good tour for you to try when you are in Fukuoka!

We arrived early at the Kumamoto Station Shinkansen West Exit to meet up. Our tour guide, Sun Peng, came over to gather the group. Since we were carrying luggage and planning to leave the tour in Kurokawa, the guide proactively asked if we had already arranged our hotel pick-up and drop-off. Although we could have arranged it ourselves, he went ahead and did it for us. Since Kurokawa has multiple parking lots, as a tourist, it would have been difficult to clearly communicate the exact pick-up spot with the hotel. Thumbs up for the guide's thoughtfulness! It was a gorgeous sunny day, and every scenic spot made for great photos. As a tourist, the experience was fantastic. Guide Sun also helped take photos for everyone, kept the commentary along the way witty and humorous, took meticulous care of us, and reminded us in advance of important points to keep in mind during the sightseeing. This trip is a great one-day tour option, much more convenient than planning and executing it yourself, and I highly recommend it!
