Fukuoka Day Trip: Shiraito Falls, Meoto Iwa, and Totoro Forest

For attractions like Itoshima, where there are distances between sights and you need to get on and off a vehicle frequently, joining a tour is the best option if you're not driving! Since I don't drive, I'm really glad I chose this method. I was able to visit all the must-see, must-eat, and must-photograph spots in Itoshima without wasting any time! Our tour guide, Helen, was also very professional, fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese. Her pre-trip introduction was very detailed, and she was very friendly throughout the tour, even helping us take photos. The two beaches and Meoto Iwa (Couple Rocks) in Itoshima are truly beautiful! The weather was great, and the sea breeze was very pleasant. We were lucky enough to eat at Itoshima Seafood Hall, which usually has a very long wait (not recommended for large groups as you'll wait a long time). Shiraito Falls was cool and refreshing under the morning sun, with the invigorating scent of phytoncides. Sennyoji Temple was very peaceful, with plenty of shade to keep cool, and possessed a classic, traditional Japanese solemnity. The walk up to the observation deck in Totoro Forest wasn't far, just a slight uphill climb. The path, with sunlight filtering through, felt truly mysterious and charming. If you want to see Fukuoka Tower lit up at the end, you can stay behind and return on your own. The itinerary is safe and flexible. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who doesn't drive!

I joined a partly Chinese speaking tour, but it was not an issue since the tour guide would speak in English 50% of the time. The itinerary was solid, and I enjoyed every area visited because I could not have visited these sights on my own. i like how the explanations were made in Chinese and English. Nothing felt rushed, and I had a prertty chill adventure and tour.

The guide Ms Wang Fang Carey was very clear in her explanation. Wang Fang was very friendly and caring, and gave useful tips about Fukuoka without us asking. Very enjoyable tour, beautiful sights and we had an unforgettable day.

The visit to Raizan Sennyoji Daihioin Temple in Itoshima is unexpectedly serene and calm. Visitors are not allowed to take pictures of the Guan Yin. The monk give blessings to visitors. The 400 yrs Maple tree is very nice too. Though it rain whole day, Mina the tour guide is very helpful. She ensures we have knowledge of the places visited.

Our tour guide was Mina for this tour! She was so amazing she set up the expectation for the tour at the beginning, explained each spot with detail, and made everyone feel included! I loved this tour with all of the nature aspects from the beach to the forests we saw :) In Itoshima City, I totally recommend getting the Tempura Resturant near the Surf Shop! 10/10 recommend!!

I really loved the tour section — it was very worthwhile, especially the Itoshima visit. If I had gone there by myself, it would have cost me much more time and money to reach those places. The best part was that the guide kept sharing recommendations on the best foods of the attraction.

The places visited were beautiful and tour was well worth the price. Tour guide Minna was gentle and very attentive to everyone, giving clear instructions and making sure we are all ok. She even told us where we could find places to eat when we returned to Hakata, knowing we would be hungry and needed food quickly. Driver Mr Lee had a long and hard day of driving the group up and down the mountains, to the beaches and through heavy traffic yet he always had a smile on his face. Thank you, Minna and Mr Lee. I enjoyed the tour very much.

Our Guide - Thomas, is very nice and informative. He helped most of us to take pictures and are able to give us good recommendations around the areas of visit. although due to bad weather, we are unable to visit the Shiraitono falls but we are provided with alternative routes which didnt dampen the mood and tour.
