Things to do in Taichung

This trip to Alishan exceeded all expectations, and I especially want to thank our guide, Eric! He thoughtfully arranged our meals, bathroom breaks, and helped us take photos. Highlight of the trip: • The serenity of Sister Ponds: Eric explained the legend and helped us capture mirror-like photos of the lake from the most beautiful angle. The tranquility was breathtaking. • The awe-inspiring Giant Tree Forest: Strolling along the giant tree trail, Eric introduced us to the different types of red cypress as if he knew them like the back of his hand. When looking up at the millennium-old trees, without his careful explanation, we might have just been passing through, but now we are filled with awe for nature. • Vintage Train: Riding the iconic forest train through the misty railway was a complete and fulfilling experience!

We whole family very happy to have Mr Ken as our guide to Sun Moon Lake and Qing Jing Farm. He is very professional and share his knowledge to us. Great to have him for the day trip in our Taichung trip.

As a solo traveler, I did enjoy my trip today 11/23/2025 and one of the best part of the trip is the hotel pick up 🤣less hussle for a tourist like us. Also, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Uncle Jun for guiding us throughout our Sun Moon Lake & Cingjing farm day tour today. His kindness, patience, and professionalism made our trip truly enjoyable. He also has an amazing talent for photography—capturing beautiful group and solo shots for us—and even went the extra mile by creating a wonderful video compilation of our memories. The whole tour was seamless from the start until the end. Our guide for the day was 小暘 (Yang) with car plate number RFL-7577. We were picked up at our hotel right on time, and the whole car ride was smooth. Yang explained a lot throughout the trip and he also helped us take many pictures. It was such a nice experience, and such great weather overall. Thank you very much!!

Klook offers discounted tickets for 1 adult and 1 child at $1315, which is cheaper than buying tickets on-site and includes a bonus Starbucks coupon. During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, I took my child to Mala Bay for the first time. I recommend starting with the Lazy River and the inflatable water park (life jackets required for both adults and children). The double-rider waterslide at Abu Bay is also fun and exciting.

The toll booth signal was good this time, so I was able to use the Q code to redeem my ticket. I still recommend taking a screenshot before heading up the mountain just in case. Online ticket purchases include free parking. There are many trails to choose from, and staying in the cabins is a lot of fun. There are currently no shops, so remember to bring plenty of food.

I didn't expect to see a professional circus in Taiwan! The price is really reasonable! There wasn't a dull moment, time flew by! Afterwards, we watched the dreamy bubble magic show! The bubble princess was so beautiful, and the performance was humorous and fun, making both adults and children laugh and interact and dance together! Highly recommended.

Purchasing Klook tickets is more advantageous than buying them on-site. The environment is clean, the water quality is good, and the hot spring quality is excellent. The nude hot springs are separated for men and women and have pools of different temperatures, as well as spa, steam room, and sauna facilities. After soaking in the hot springs, we had lunch at the Hanami Western Restaurant. Although there aren't many food options, the food is all very fresh. There's no need to jostle with crowds to get food, and the service attitude is very friendly. Highly recommended.
