Sun Moon Lake and Gaomei Wetlands Tour from Taichung (Hotel Pick Up)

I was so lucky to join the Sun Moon Lake & Gaomei Wetland day tour led by GuoEn (Ivn) today – it was absolutely perfect. The weather was perfect, the guide was perfect, and the scenery was perfect. GuoEn was patient and attentive to every member of the group, from picking us up at our hotels in the morning to taking photos for everyone along the way, and waiting until we had all watched the sunset before heading back to drop us off at our hotels. The itinerary said we'd be heading back around 5:50 PM, but today's sunset wasn't until 6:36 PM, and we originally estimated leaving around 6:45 PM. GuoEn patiently waited until almost 7:00 PM for everyone to finish watching the sunset before heading back. Sun Moon Lake, a place I learned about in textbooks as a child and saw on page 43 of my passport, truly lives up to its name. Having seen sunsets all over the world, I still have to marvel at the sunset at Gaomei Wetland. Thank you for this one-day tour that perfectly concluded my free trip to Taiwan. It's such a pleasure joining the tour led by GuoEn (Ivn), which was perfect in every way. We're lucky to have a perfect trip with perfect weather and a perfect tour guide GuoEn. GuoEn took care of every member patiently with a warm smile and took photos for everyone. He picked up each member at their hotel in the morning and drove us to Sun Moon Lake. We all enjoyed the boat ride around the lake and the stunning sunset at Gaomei Wetland. GuoEn waited patiently till everyone had finished admiring the sunset, even though it lasted until around 7:00 PM, later than the planned 6:45 PM. Afterward, he drove us back to our hotels. What an unforgettable journey!

This was the best day trip in Taiwan. We took boats and stopped at various points, allowing us to deeply experience the diverse landscapes of Sun Moon Lake. Mr. Cash Ma was an excellent guide, explaining the sights along the way and being considerate of our elders. He also went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, including ice cream at Miyahara Eye Clinic and oolong tofu at Wongji. The sunset and wetland ecosystem at Gaomei Wetland were breathtaking and truly captivating. We had a blast!

This itinerary is great! We are lucky to have a nice weather when we did this tour. I enjoyed Sun Moon Lake especially the scenic bike ride & the stunning sunset in Gaomei Wetlands. Ben our driver/tour guide/photographer is absolutely amazing!!👏From pick up to the actual tour up until the drop off, everything is seamless. He made sure that all of us are enjoying & he took lovely photos!! Even if I am a solo traveler, I had amazing photos!!🙌 Kudos to Ben!! Highly recommended!!

Our tour guide was Guo En, and we joined the Sun Moon Lake & Gaomei Wetlands day tour. Overall, the entire trip was a fantastic experience. The day before departure, the tour guide messaged us to confirm the time and pick-up location. He also told us the license plate number and reminded us to bring motion sickness medicine. We took a boat trip on Sun Moon Lake and visited three piers. The tour guide recommended the braised pork rice and black tea, which were both delicious! Afterwards, we had about 1.5 hours to cycle along Sun Moon Lake to the Elephant Mountain Visitor Center, then we visited the Wenwu Temple, and finally went to Gaomei Wetlands to stay until sunset. During the trip, the tour guide thoughtfully helped us take photos and even prepared a 360 panoramic camera. The tour guide's photography skills were excellent! He also guided us on posing for photos. At the end of the trip, the tour guide asked us where we wanted to get off and dropped us off individually. The entire itinerary was well-planned, fulfilling, but not too rushed. P.S. In the afternoon, we asked the tour guide about restaurants for dinner, and he actively helped us arrange a reservation, and we even received special treatment. Thank you so much!

It was a fulfilling and well-rounded tour. I was picked up from my hotel, which was very convenient, and they informed me of the pickup time the day before. The guide spoke English well, so communication wasn't a problem, and the time spent at each location was just right. I loved the color of the lake, and the tea eggs I had at the first temple were delicious! In the town, I enjoyed the cabbage bun and No. 18 tea. Also, the sunset at Gaomei Wetlands was beautiful, and watching the crabs was fun. The grilled squid and squid balls sold in front of the parking lot were also delicious! I seem to have only written about food, haha. I recommend this tour!

I had a wonderful experience on this tour, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, 小新. His explanations were clear and informative, helping us better appreciate the places we visited. What made the journey even more enjoyable was his great sense of humour and superb photography skills, which helped us capture many memorable moments. The tour was very well-paced, with good time management while still feeling relaxed and unhurried. Since we were a large group, we were able to charter the entire vehicle, which made the experience more private, comfortable, and flexible. Along the way, 小新 also shared recommendations on some great local products to buy, which was very helpful. He was attentive throughout the trip and always made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Overall, the breathtaking views, combined with the chill and friendly atmosphere, made this a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended, especially if you get 小新 as your guide!

I thought the tour was great! Many different stops along the way. There were times it was a bit confusing where our next location would be and how much money was required for the extra activities. I knew there would be extra charges, but it seemed high and other tours have been a bit more transparent about what costs would be. We needed 350 extra for the bikes, and 300 extra for the boat tour, which wasn't clear until right when we paid. The Gaomei wetlands were beautiful, it would have been nice to stay just a bit longer to finish the sunset but that's kind of hour tours go. Overall, it had lots of stops and was very convenient, but communication about the charges in advance would have been better! The timing of the tour was great and the locations were so beautiful, the most fun part probably being the bike ride. Would definitely go again!

I don't speak Chinese, but I booked the Chinese group because I needed to make a reservation urgently ^_^. The guide kindly used a translator throughout the tour to explain everything, and I was very happy because he took great photos like a model~! There were no leg aches or discomfort because we traveled by car, and there was no problem touring even though I don't speak Chinese, so Korean people, don't hesitate to apply~! I enjoyed the tour all day long, highly recommended ㅎㅎㅎ (P.S.: It's really, really, really windy on the Gaomei Wetlands tour ㅠㅠ Outerwear is a must ㅠㅠ I almost caught a cold because it was so cold)

I was able to efficiently visit Sun Moon Lake and Gaomei Wetlands from a hotel in front of Taichung Station on this tour. The weather was great, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I had to choose between a Chinese or English tour, and since I don't understand either language, I signed up for the more affordable Chinese tour. Despite not knowing Chinese, Mr. Nguyen, the driver and guide, was very kind and helpful, and I am grateful to him. The other Taiwanese people on the tour were also very nice, making it a pleasant and memorable day. This was my first time participating in an optional tour after 40 visits to Taiwan, and I wish I had experienced it sooner. Thank you very much, Mr. Nguyen, the Crayon Shin-chan loving tour guide! 🩵

we only cover some parts of Sun Moon Lake and it was a nice 1. timing is kinda short at Sun Moon Lake and that's the only cons. timing is perfect at Gaomei Wetland and the sunset is gorgeous. the guide Ms Wu is nice
