Transport in Tokyo

I will take Skyliner everytime when I land on Narita airport. This is the fastest way to travel from Narita Airport to the city of Tokyo (near Ueno). I also love staying in the hotels in Ueno. Good value! High CP value!

With just one metro pass, you can freely travel around the city for 72 hours. Considering Japan's transportation costs, it's a must-have for walkers~~ Personally, I wish they had a 120-hour option. The pass is easy to use, and the price is cheap, so it's great value for the money!!! It would be even better if it included buses, but since bus routes can be difficult, I'm satisfied just riding the metro with good visibility. Thank you. I needed 4 days, so I bought the 72-hour and an additional 24-hour pass ㅜㅜ If I had known, 48 + 48 would have been better ㅜㅜ If you plan ahead, it might be better in many ways. Of course, in terms of price~~~ Thank you.

If you plan to explore Hakone for the whole day, I really recommend getting the day pass. It saves a lot of time and makes the trip smoother. redemption guide: Easy. Just follow the instructions given by Klook.

IC cards are still the best option when traveling within Tokyo. Unlimited passes only work on certain lines. I did the math for all the fares we would be paying for our entire trip with the help of Google, and realized that the Suica card would only cost us each JPY 200 more than the unlimited pass for the Toei line. The card comes preloaded with 2000jpy each and we only had to top it up 3 times after. But it got us to Tokyo Disneyland, Warner Bros. Studios, and Gotokuji Temple. The only hard part in the process is finding the redemption area, which is located in the farthest spot from the arrival hall and there are no signs that points you there. Also the person who entertained me didn't understand that he needed to scan 1 QR code per person. Good thing he had a coworker explain it to him. So it's best to learn a few phrases to help you with this.

The voucher was easily redeemable and the process to board the bus was smooth and seamless. Nice and comfy ride. The onboard restroom was an added bonus.

So glad I bought the NIKKO Pass All Area. It was really convenient and saved me a lot of money. One roundtrip from Yumoto Onsen is 3800¥, almost half the price of the All Area Nikko Pass. A few things to note: 1) Busses will not accept screenshots of your NIKKO Pass so make sure you have Wi-Fi, good LTE and if not, leave the pass open on your phone so it still works even with no connection 2) Take a look at the additional benefits of the All Area pass. You can go on the Lake Chuzenji cruise multiple times as long as you have the paper cruise ticket they give you. Also looks like you get a free day use of hot spring at Nikko Astoria hotel (I haven’t done it but looks like a new nice perk). Don’t forget discounts at stores with NIKKO Pass signage though I didn’t spot any. 3) Don’t forget to buy the Tobu Express tickets linked in the Highlights section of this page. Spacia X rides was very nice if you want to be fancy. Enjoy your time in Nikko!

Highly recommended. We don't understand how people wouldn't be interested in seeing pink dolphins. A truly unique experience. The 11 o'clock tour guide was great.

Whenever I visit prefectures outside of Tokyo, I make sure to check whether the trip is covered by the JR Tokyo Wide Pass. For 15,000 yen for three days, this pass allows me to travel to various places without worrying about paying each time. It also allows me to take Shinkansen trains and get reserved seats to reach my destination faster. I highly recommend using the JR Tokyo Wide Pass and buying it in advance from Klook (super easy to claim from Narita airport). Plan your itinerary well and calculate if the pass is worth it. During this trip, I used it to visit Nikko on a day trip and Karuizawa on an overnight trip, plus used it on JR Lines within Tokyo. It was surely worth more than what I paid for, so it was definitely a good value.
