Its extremely convenient as you only need to scan your passport at immigration, no need for other documents. The ride is only less than 15mins from WK to Futian. Be there at least 60mins before departure time to be safe. We were early and able to change our tickets to an earlier train at the ticketing counter but take note this doesn't apply on the return leg from futian as there were only tickets machine available. The gates only open 20mins before departure time. Hope this info helps.
