Fantastic 5.0
We had a wonderful experience here. Georgia was our instructor and she was very patient and friendly. We made our own chopsticks, had them engraved and look forward to using them. I highly recommend trying this place out as it’s near some good tourist spots and not expensive too. I’ll be back again for sure. กิจกรรม:

Kyoto chopsticks making workshop is a great group activity to do when your feet have had enough of walking the endless stairs in kyoto. a very doable and satisfying process, that results in a very cool personally made souvenir. location is easy to find, central and there is an elevator to the third floor of the building. The workshop space is well set up and clean. The staff were attentive and very helpful and super friendly. Highly recommend this experience and going earlier in the morning than later on when its busier

We had an awesome experience learning the art of Kintsugi in Kyoto. I attended with my adult daughter and we both had a wonderful time. The booking says the class is one hour, which is not enough time to actually complete the class. You’d be better allocating 1 1/2 to 2 hours for the experience. We really only had an hour and were rushed getting it finished in 1 hour 20 minutes. That was the only downside to the class. Our instructor JoJo did a marvelous job of explaining some of the history and uses of Kintsugi. It really was fascinating to experience the philosophy of rebirth and reuse. Like so many of the temples use the Phoenix as a symbol for rebirth, this class taught the practical side of the concept. From reassembling the broken dish to applying the gold, JoJo made it fun and informative. Highly recommend it to anyone - all ages!! instructor: Fun and interesting. experience: Very happy we made time for this!!

Very fun experience! Small plates are included in the price, though you can purchase larger plates or bowls of you want too. The team spoke very good English. We bought our tickets from Klook which was simple, I would recommend using what3words to find the location though as this is easier to find this way ///debt.promises.pinch

Fantastic 5.0
this was a phenomenal experience. expect a lot of sweat and sore muscles after this, but it is so worth it. You start by choosing what kind of knife you want to make, then head own to the forge where the guides show you how to beat the heated metal to expand it into your knife. They help you through the process (my partner was fine, but I needed a bit more help as I don’t really have any wrist or arm muscle and got tired pretty quick) and help shape it into your desired knife. You’re there for an hour to an hour and a half, then sand your knife down to the perfect shape and sharpen the blade (which I loved). The guides tell you how traditional knives used to be made before the sanding belts they have now, and you get the full experience. The guides were amazing, gave the perfect amount of guidance, and helped with the final steps to make sure your knife was the best it could be. Shout out to Mits and Deiki! I would absolutely do it again, and highly recommend the experience!

Tips before visiting Kyoto

1. Plan your route early

Kyoto has many popular spots, so planning your Kyoto itinerary helps you save time. This keeps your days simple and helps you avoid long rides between areas.

2. Start your day early

Many top attractions get crowded, especially during cherry blossoms and autumn colors. If you visit in the early morning, you’ll enjoy quieter views and easier photos. This also helps you stay cool in warmer months.

3. Wear comfortable shoes

You’ll walk a lot across temples, markets, and older streets. Paths in old Kyoto can be uneven, so good shoes make your day easier. You’ll enjoy exploring without feeling tired too soon.

4. Use trains and buses

Public transport is easily accessible, especially around Kyoto Station and major districts. You’ll find trains and buses connecting most top picks, and you can save money with day passes like the Kyoto City Subway and Bus 1 Day Ticket during longer stays. Many places are also easy for you to reach on foot once you get off the bus.

5. Try local meals and stay flexible

Kyoto has great food, from green tea sweets to small restaurant spots serving classics. If lines are long, explore nearby streets like Pontocho Alley, Nishiki Market’s side lanes, or Shijo-dori; you may find a new favorite place for dinner or breakfast. Keeping flexible helps you enjoy the flow of the city.
