Ya Xiang Stone Hot Pot has been a popular hotpot spot since it first opened in Ximending and now has multiple branches in the greater Taipei area. Serving hotpot from noon till 4am, head over anytime for lunch, dinner, or supper. The stone hotpot features a delicious mix of fragrant onion, garlic, dried squid, and meat mixed with irresistible satay sauce and other spices. You can also grab as much meat and veggies as you want from the fridge, which are color-coded based on price.

Kaifeng Street Porridge is an unassuming little shop is located at the T-junction of Huanshan South Road and Kaifeng Street. Here's where you can find Taiwanese salted porridge from the evening until 3am, but it's easy to miss due to the lack of a prominent sign and the constant traffic blocking off the stall.

The affordable porridge (only NT$15, SG$0.65) is served with boiled rice grains in a bone broth base, and topped with cabbage, mushrooms, and shredded meat. Be sure to order some side dishes with your porridge, such as the succulent braised pork too!

12. Chou Chao Tzu (周照子鐵板清粥小菜西門店)

If you're in Ximending, you won't want to miss Cheng Wei Zhen, a restaurant that's been serving up flavourful noodles for over 40 years. Their menu not only offers noodles in a tasty soup, but you'll also find braised pork rice (my personal favourite!), wontons, and egg-wrapped dumplings. In short, you'll find all the basic Taiwanese late-night snacks here!

Accordingly, Ximen Noodle shop has been around for more than 60 years, and through Ximending's 60-year history, the taste of their crispy cold noodles and delicious pork trotter rice has remained unchanged. In recent years though, the shop has undergone renovations, adding a modern touch to its retro vibes.
