Not many places do night markets quite like Thailand, with the incredible abundance of street food and shopping to be done. Luckily enough, Taiwan offers up its own similar selection of great night markets where we can explore all the delicious local flavours available.
One of the night markets in Taipei that we highly recommend travellers visit is Tonghua Night Market (also known as Linjiang Street Night Market) - with Michelin-recommended dishes available.
PS: It's also located conveniently near the Xinyi shopping district, which makes it the perfect pitstop after you shop!

You can pick any four of the eight 'treasures' (read: ingredients) for only NT$60 (SG$2.64), and if you're not sure what to choose, you can opt for the signature bowl with five pre-selected ingredients to keep things simple.

What we get as a result is a refreshing milky soup that is so delicious that you can't help but take another sip. The large intestines in the soup are also tender and chewy, and thoroughly cleaned without any fishy smell, and the Job's tears and lotus seeds are also cooked to perfection. We also recommend trying the mixed plate, which comes with various small dishes prepared by the owner - it's a feast for the senses!
