I highly recommend the "Kyushu Takachiho One-Day Tour" I recently took; the overall itinerary was very well-planned! We comfortably took a direct bus from Kumamoto Station and were able to visit Takachiho Gorge, Mount Aso, and Kusasenri all in one day. Not having to transfer or plan transportation ourselves was incredibly convenient for independent travel. Although we couldn't go up to the Mount Aso crater today and the boat ride was under maintenance, the overall experience was still excellent, and I believe this is a great reason to visit again in the future! I especially recommend our guide, Mr. Sun. He provided professional and engaging commentary throughout the trip, sharing many historical facts and stories about Kumamoto's attractions. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, keeping everyone attentive. Mr. Sun was also very thoughtful, checking in on each traveler, proactively helping with photos at every stop, and recommending delicious food and souvenirs. Having Mr. Sun made the entire journey even better! Today was a wonderful and worthwhile one-day trip! I truly recommend this tour! 👍

I'm honored to be the first tourist on this route. Our tour guide, Daisy, was very enthusiastic and friendly, and the driver was excellent. As Mount Aso is currently closed, the attraction was replaced with Takachiho Shrine, followed by a visit to Takachiho Gorge. After lunch, we gathered and set off for Kusasenri. By the way, it's best to bring your own lunch, as there aren't many restaurants to choose from near this attraction. Kusasenri is beautiful, and we stayed for about an hour. Afterwards, we headed to Komezuka, stopping for about 10 minutes. Luckily, the clouds parted at that time, and we were able to see the "matcha pudding" even on a cloudy and rainy day. Then, we drove to Aso Station. The scenery along the way was beautiful. A small suggestion: it would be great if we could stop for a while at the places where cows and horses graze. We arrived at Aso Station at about 15:30, and after a short visit to the station, it was just the right time to catch the Aso Boy train. As I was the only tourist on this route, I joined a group with other passengers who didn't have the limited express train included. The tour guide was very thoughtful and helped me book a window seat. The best part of the Aso Boy train ride is the first half, where the scenery is like something out of a fairy tale. There are also amusement facilities on board for children to play with. We arrived in Kumamoto at about 17:00, which was just the right time to have dinner and do some shopping in the surrounding area. Overall, it was a very memorable experience.

tour was great and well organized, but best praise should go to our tour guide (ada) because bus was packed with people and itinerary is intense most people speaks mandarin and very few English people attended today, but she managed really well the situations and gives us tips and short cuts. I didn’t feel like a solo traveler at all. she was there for photos and advices.

The experience was pretty good, a fun day tour. We went to some spots that are harder to get to by yourself, like Mount Aso Crater, Aso Shrine, and Kusasenri. It saved us a lot of hassle, just get on the bus to relax and then hop off to take photos. Our tour guide, Ms. Chou, was enthusiastic and cheerful, and helped everyone take pictures, and she also shared some interesting information. I'll definitely look for more tours to join next time I'm in Kyushu.

Our tour guide, Yang Meng, was very attentive and responsible. Besides introducing the scenic spots, she also recommended other famous restaurants and attractions to us 👍👍. The itinerary was also well-arranged and had a high-cost performance. Highly recommended!

love the trip and the guide, Kong! she is sharing a lot interesting facts and history about the areas and Kumamoto. can see the passion she has for the job. Proactively taking photos for us even we have a big group of 46 guests. She managed the whole day well and efficiently. clearly explained everything we need to know and even texted us to keep us informed. Too bad we can’t get close to volcano Aso and no boat ride. Maybe it’s a sign that I should be back again!

This tour is very cost-effective and perfect for tourists traveling from Fukuoka to Kumamoto. Takachiho Gorge is located in Miyazaki Prefecture, while Mount Aso and Kusasenri Highland are in Kumamoto Prefecture. You can visit two major attractions in one day, spanning Kyushu. The time spent at Takachiho Gorge isn't long, but it's sufficient. Although I didn't get a chance to go boating, it was relaxing to walk along the valley. I was lucky that the Mount Aso crater was open today, even though it was a bit foggy. The scenery at Kusasenri Highland was beautiful. I saw Komezuka, which looks like a matcha pudding, and enjoyed milk ice cream and milk. There were many souvenirs on the first floor of the gray building, and I bought coffee and a refrigerator magnet. On the way back, I took the Aso Boy train back to Kumamoto, which was super cute. It was a worthwhile trip!
