I was honored to be the first tourist on this route. Our guide, Daisy, was very enthusiastic and friendly, and the driver was excellent. Due to the recent closure of Mount Aso, this attraction was replaced with Takachiho Shrine. Afterwards, we visited Takachiho Gorge. After lunch, we gathered and departed for Kusasenri. By the way, it's best to bring your own food for lunch, as there aren't many restaurant options near this attraction. Kusasenri was beautiful, and we stayed for about an hour. Then we went to Komezuka, staying for about 10 minutes. We were very lucky that the clouds parted, and we saw the "matcha pudding" on an overcast day. Afterwards, we drove to Aso Station, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. A small suggestion: it would have been even better if we could have stopped for a while where the cattle and horses were grazing. We arrived at Aso Station around 15:30, just in time to briefly look around the station before boarding the Aso Boy train. Since I was the only tourist on this route, I joined a group with other passengers who did not have the express train included. The guide thoughtfully booked a window seat for me. The highlight of the Aso Boy train is in the first half, where the scenery feels like something out of a fairy tale, and there are also play facilities on board for children. We arrived in Kumamoto around 17:00, which was a perfect time to have dinner and do some shopping nearby. All in all, it was a very memorable experience.
