This itinerary is different from other day trips, as it was arranged by the Kumamoto Tourism Bureau in Japan. There is no tour guide or bus; you need to travel to all designated locations by yourself. We strictly followed the schedule, and I personally felt that the time allocated for each attraction was excellent. The only minor regret was spending only half an hour at the crater, which some people found a pity, but it was actually very cold that day, so I personally felt half an hour was about right! Next, we headed to Kusasenri for lunch and to enjoy the scenery. Lunch was delicious, and my family members traveling with me loved it. The scenery at Kusasenri is beautiful, and you can even ride horses. I highly recommend visiting the observation deck and walking on the grassland. In the afternoon, we had about three hours at Aso Station. We chose to visit Aso Shrine, which can be reached by JR or bus followed by a short walk. The shrine is also magnificent, and after visiting, you can explore the nearby shopping street. The itinerary was quite rich! On the way back, we encountered traffic, so we arrived at Hakata Station an hour later than expected, but this is unavoidable, so I won't give a negative review. For every bus ride mentioned in the itinerary, you just need to show it to the driver for confirmation, which is very convenient!

The activity purchased this time was a self-guided Mount Aso day tour. After the activity is confirmed, you will receive an itinerary, and on the day, you need to follow the itinerary to take the bus. Each time you board and alight, you need to show the itinerary to the driver for inspection. The whole process was very smooth, saving the hassle of arranging the itinerary and coordinating bus schedules yourself, and it was also cheaper than buying bus tickets individually. However, please note that the crater bus is not included. The activity also included lunch at a restaurant near the crater museum. Restaurant prices are generally quite high, so having lunch included in the activity was very good value. The Akagyu (red beef) burger meal was more substantial than I expected, and the taste was good, with coffee at the end! Enjoying lunch with a view of Kusasenri was truly very chill 🥰 (except it was a bit sunny). The only downside was that the time spent at the crater was relatively short, less than half an hour. Finally, there were 3 hours to wait for the return bus at Aso Station, during which you could arrange to visit Aso Shrine. Unfortunately, I wasn't interested in shrines, so I went to soak in a hot spring and buy souvenirs nearby! 😆 Overall, it was a very good experience and worth recommending!

Although there's the issue of having to travel independently without a tour guide, this won't be a problem at all for those who enjoy traveling. Also, you don't necessarily have to follow the itinerary exactly as written on the voucher. Since you already have your tickets issued, it's perfectly fine to use a bus ticket for the same route but a different time! Please note that this trip is heavily influenced by the weather, so caution is advised.

There's no guide; you just take the bus at the scheduled time and go on your own. I couldn't see the crater because the alert level was at 2, but there's a place to take a helicopter before reaching the crater, so that might be worth considering. I walked around all day, and lunch was delicious too. There's some free time at Aso Station, and it's fun to explore the village. I recommend it for solo travelers.

This tour primarily involves taking a bus at the bus stop according to the schedule. It provides bus services from Kumamoto to Aso and to Mount Aso. If you're lucky, you can pay an additional 600 yen to see the crater. For lunch, you'll have a beef burger set meal, including a hot coffee, at the Kusasenri restaurant. There's no tour guide; you just need to wait for the bus on time and show your voucher to the driver. It's a very relaxed itinerary.

This one-day tour does not include a guide, but they will arrange all your transportation times and tickets. When boarding and alighting, simply show the ticket on the Klook document provided to you. However, it does not include the bus ticket to go up the volcano. Don't worry, as soon as you get off the bus, you'll basically queue to buy the volcano bus ticket, and there will be staff to guide you to the location.

The Kusasenri itinerary is quite good. Following the schedule and train times, you can have a very good travel experience. As I am vegetarian, the lunch restaurant was willing to adjust my meal to tomato pasta, for which I am sincerely grateful. There might be many passengers on the bus from the Kusasenri Volcano Museum to Aso Station. If time permits, it is recommended to go a little earlier to wait for the bus. Overall, it is highly recommended 👍

The itinerary was very clear, and arriving a bit early according to the schedule made preparations very smooth ✌️. The arranged transportation and meals were excellent. This time, because the crater was closed due to an alert, I chose to ride horses, take photos, hike, and visit the volcano museum at Kusasenri, which was very relaxing with beautiful scenery ☀️. There were also English and Japanese explanations of the attractions on the bus, making it a wonderful experience 🩷. During the free time at Aso Station, I chose to go to Yume no Yu Onsen across the street to soak in the hot springs and drink Aso milk. It was inexpensive and very comfortable 👍👍👍.

This tour does not include a guide or attraction commentary. It only provides driver pick-up and drop-off. You will alight at each stop, and then re-board according to the schedule to proceed to the next stop. Lunch includes a red beef burger.

The weather was a bit cold, but the scenery was beautiful. Unfortunately, we couldn't get close to the crater that day as the alert level had been raised to 2, meaning it was closed. You need to leave a message yourself for pick-up and drop-off times. To board, you need to draw a ticket, and you must show your proof to the driver when getting on and off.
