Things to do in Matsumoto Castle Park

A truly incredible tour and experience. Colin was our guide, and he was very knowledgeable and kept us safe/on track/ learning about not only the castle but the town and its history. Colin made it very apparent that he respects the Japanese culture and language, which my husband and I valued. After the tour, Miharu sensei showed us her amazing samurai skills and we got to practicing. It was SO much fun, a forever memorable experience. I would SUPER recommend this tour. I seldom write reviews but wanted to endorse this one. thanks everyone!

super insightful experience as a major lover of red miso. the package is worth it if you find the shirt and apron useful! but for me i would have rather just the miso and meal. regardless, it was a super hearty and yummy meal 🥰

Our guide (Tom) was very welcoming and engaging during the entire tour. Tom’s way of delivering information combined with his sense of humour made for a memorable and fun experience. He also gave great suggestions of places to visit during the rest of our stay in Japan.

Went on November 12th before the mountain closure. There were already fewer maple leaves. There was snow on the mountain, and the temperature was low, but it was okay when walking. My hands were very cold and icy. This time, I chose to walk to Myojin Pond, getting off the bus and starting to walk again. Started at Kappa Bridge at 12:00, then returned to Kappa Bridge around 2:30, with departure at 3:10. The line for taking photos at Myojin Pond wasn't too long. If there are too many people in line, consider whether or not to wait. The pace was somewhat fast along the way, not a leisurely stroll, but not quite running either. 🤣🤣

I happened to visit Kamikochi just two days after the first snow of the season, and the hike from Taisho Pond to Myojin Pond was breathtaking! The tour guide and staff were enthusiastic and responsible!!

The scenery is incredibly beautiful, and being there in person is truly breathtaking! I'm so glad I came in November during the autumn season, as there was both early snow and autumn foliage. And the weather was fantastic that day, so the photos I took looked like paintings and movies even without a filter. I highly recommend visiting in the fall.

we had an amazing time in Kamikochi. enjoyed the view and tour guide is kind. this tour is recommendable.

Matsumoto castle and kamikochi both were wonderful. The tour was really good. pick up and drop was smooth too.
