Fantastic 5.0
Klook offers the best prices. If you want to experience the charm of the Northern Kyushu region, I recommend taking the JR. I bought a three-day JR pass and visited Kokura, Mojiko, and Kumamoto. I highly recommend Kokura Castle; although it's a reconstructed castle, it offers many interactive activities for visitors. You can also try on kimonos for free and take photos, or experience horseback archery—it's definitely worth a visit. If you get off at Kokura, you must try the chicken udon noodles at the standing noodle shop on the Kitakyushu Station platform, which has a long history; it's very affordable and delicious! Mojiko is a beautiful harbor with a European flair, perfect for exploring various historic buildings and taking photos. Curry is a famous local dish there. Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan's three great castles, has several centuries of history and is a reconstructed castle with significant historical value. The castle's main color is black, and its appearance resembles a samurai, giving it a majestic presence. I suggest taking the tram to Kumamoto Castle to experience the local culture and daily life.

Fantastic experience. The private room for six was beautiful. The scenery was lovely. The food quality was high. There was a jam-making workshop to learn about local culture. Thumbs up! Seating reservation process: Good. Price: Reasonable. Redemption instructions: Clear.

Highly recommended! Our tour guide, Carson, was very kind and friendly. He proactively helped us take photos and recommended great sights and food. Plus, he speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, which made communication very easy! Carson's time management was excellent. All group members were punctual, and no one was late, making the trip very smooth! Kyushu Zoo... being able to enjoy the air conditioning on the tour bus while watching the animals was a real treat for my parents, haha! Yufuin is definitely worth visiting. Carson's recommendations for eel rice and croquettes were delicious. You absolutely must try them! It's a shame we only had two hours... not quite enough time to explore the entire Yunotsubo Street... I hope the next trip can be scheduled for three hours! I will definitely join again!

This was a lot of fun and you do get to see a lot in one day. The only thing is you have to be mindful about your time. It can be really easy to dwell only on one area of the place you’re visiting and before you know it, your time is almost up and you have to head back to the bus. My guide was Kevin and he was wonderful! Kevin had beautiful energy, was very kind and explained everything to me in English-since I am coming from the United States. I do recommend maybe packing some snacks/food just because you can get caught up sightseeing that you may not have the chance to grab something there and also because food is not provided. Overall my favorite part is how scenic the entire trip is!

had a beautiful and amazing day visiting Yufuin, Beppu, Kinrin Lake, and Dazaifu! was the only English-speaking guest on the tour, while most of the other guests were part of the Chinese-speaking group. But thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Nana, I never felt left out or like I was on my own. Nana-san translated everything for me in English, took my phone number just in case I got or lost, made sure I had a comfy seat, and constantly checked that I was okay. She was so warm, funny, and genuinely thoughtful. She even reco a great place for ice cream at Honeybees! It honestly felt like I had my own little travel buddy for the day My fave part of the trip was Kinrin Lake. I was honestly amazed by how beautiful it was Beppu was also incredible. we couldn’t go on the Beppu Ropeway because of the weather, Dazaifu was under construction during my visit. Yufuin was probably the least enjoyable part for me because it felt quite touristy and crowded ended up having such a wonderful time.

I am glad the tour guide assigned in our trip was Daisy. She was the same guide we had last year in our Mt. Aso tour. As before, she was very nice, insightful, and helpful. She provided relevant information and information and concern to the tour participants. We had ample time to explore Beppu m.

Fantastic 5.0
Our day tour to Dazaifu, Yufuin, Kamado Jigoku, and Umi Jigoku was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The itinerary was well-paced, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, shop, and truly enjoy each stop. A special thanks to our tour guide, Vivian, for making the experience even more memorable. She shared interesting stories and historical facts about every place we visited, which made us appreciate each destination on a deeper level. Her instructions were always clear, and she managed the schedule efficiently, ensuring we had enough free time while keeping the tour running smoothly. Vivian also went the extra mile by recommending local specialties and must-try food, helping us make the most of our visit. Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care for everyone in the group made the entire trip enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fukuoka and Beppu. If you get Vivian as your guide, you’re in excellent hands!

Fantastic 5.0
I think this one-day tour was fantastic. Not only was the buy-one-get-one-free deal incredibly good value, but they also gave us souvenirs at the end. What I really appreciated most was not having to worry about transportation. Our tour guide was also very professional, and his English was excellent. We had foreign tourists in our group, and the guide could switch from Chinese to English instantly. His English was very pleasant to listen to. The only downside was that the flowing noodle area was closed due to an earthquake or something similar, so we didn't get to try the flowing noodles, which was a bit of a shame. Also, some group members went boating and were late, but the guide waited for them.

What to know before visiting Beppu

Quick snapshot of Beppu and what draws visitors

Beppu is known for its hot-spring culture and a steady flow of bookings for tours, parks and gardens, and theme-park style experiences. Demand peaks in December and drops sharply in August, so the rhythm of the year swings between a busy winter and a very quiet late summer.

Best times to go, and how prices behave

Klook booking data show December is the busiest month while August is the quietest. Prices on Klook are also lowest in August and trend upward into September, which appears as the priciest month in past data, so the late-summer dip brings both lower demand and lower prices. If you want smaller crowds and better value, plan for August; if you prefer the peak-season atmosphere, aim for December when demand is highest.

Tips for travellers

Most travellers here typically book about 10 days in advance, with last-minute bookings still possible a day or two before. For a short trip, you can be flexible and lock in popular tours a week or so ahead to secure your preferred time slots. Use Klook to browse options early and confirm bookings when your dates are set to balance choice and convenience.
