What to expect
From historical culture to artistic scenery, and then to the steaming hot Hell Onsens! Experience the best of Kyushu in one day! Perfect for first-time visitors to Kyushu! Come with me on a tour. First Stop: Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine (Blessed by the God of Learning) Upon arriving at Dazaifu, a strong sense of ancient Japanese charm greets you. Walking through the torii gate and along the stone path, with old shops adorned with red lanterns on both sides, it feels like traveling through time. Everyone comes to worship Sugawara no Michizane, the “God of Learning.” If you’re looking for academic success, certifications, or good fortune, don’t miss it. A must-try: Freshly baked Umegae Mochi, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with a cup of matcha, your soul will instantly be healed. Second Stop: Yufuin (A Haven for Artistic Slow Living) Next, we arrive at Yufuin, a super healing town surrounded by mountains and a lake. Walking along Yunotsubo Street, every snapshot is postcard-worthy. Creative shops, fragrant dessert houses, and Japanese handmade goods will instantly awaken your “shopping” spirit. Lake Kinrin: In the early morning or evening, it’s often shrouded in a light mist, creating a dreamlike and ethereal scene. Dessert recommendations: Pudding, cheesecake, freshly grilled crepes. Third Stop: Beppu Ropeway Slowly ascending in the ropeway, it feels like flying into a painting! From the ropeway, you can overlook the entire city of Beppu, Beppu Bay, and the continuous mountain ranges, a breathtaking sight. There’s also an observation deck and a small shrine at the summit, remember to take photos as souvenirs. From June 22 to July 17, 2026, the Beppu Ropeway will undergo regular maintenance. During this period, visitors will go to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell). (Umi Jigoku tickets are self-paid, 500 JPY/person). Umi Jigoku features a dreamy blue spring pool, like the ocean. It looks cool, but the water temperature is actually super hot, reaching about 98 degrees Celsius! White steam continuously rises from the surface of the pool, making the whole scene look like it’s bubbling, cute yet a bit mysterious. Fourth Stop: Beppu Hell Tour - Kamado Jigoku (Cooking Pot Hell) Beppu’s most interesting attraction is here! The “Hells” are actually various natural hot springs of different colors and forms, a dazzling sight. Kamado Jigoku is characterized by a concentration of various hell hot springs in one place: blue, red, boiling, steaming… It’s like stepping into a “fantasy factory” version of hot springs. Finally, return to Fukuoka, concluding this rich one-day trip! From the ancient charm of Dazaifu to the artistic Yufuin, and then to the fantastical world of mountains and springs in Beppu – does it feel like one day is not enough to explore it all? Get your camera and your appetite ready; your next spontaneous Kyushu trip starts here.

Reviews
The tour guide was exceptionally professional and friendly. Highly recommended day trip!!! Started the morning with peaceful vibes at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine – the plum blossoms and autumn leaves were stunning, and you can feel the history in every step. Then we headed to Yufuin Town – think Studio Ghibli meets hot spring paradise. After lunch, soaked in the views of Mt. Yufu and explored the cute cafés and craft shops. Next up, Beppu Ropeway for jaw-dropping views of the city and the bay from above. The cable car ride alone is worth it! Additional 1700 yen. Last but definitely not least – Kamado Jigoku (one of Beppu’s famous “Hells”). Not only did we see bubbling geothermal ponds and steam vents, but we also got a complimentary onsen egg (so creamy!) and a refreshing lemon soda to wash it down. A perfect mix of culture, nature, incredible food, and quirky onsen fun. Highly recommend this route for anyone visiting Fukuoka/Oita!
It was a very enjoyable day trip. Our guide, Vivian, was very attentive, explaining each attraction and even taking photos for every member of the group – she was very nice. Initially, it was raining at Dazaifu, and the main hall was under renovation, so we could only pray facing the maintenance curtain. However, I got to touch the sacred ox statue and take pictures of the hydrangeas, which was nice. Yufuin is a town made up of unique shops, and it was very pleasant to just wander around and try different foods. Although the Beppu ropeway fee wasn't included in the tour price and had to be paid separately, I personally felt it was worth it. You could enjoy the ever-changing weather at the mountaintop and the ocean view below. At Kamado Jigoku, we even got free hot spring eggs and Ramune soda, haha. Overall, it was a relaxing tour focused on eating and drinking. Highly recommended!
This excursion was absolutely worth it. It's truly wonderful to see so many different activities and places in one day. We especially want to thank our tour guide, Lee, who led us through the day with great fun and friendliness. Of course, we would have liked more time at each stop, especially in Yufuin, but that's probably always the case with these kinds of excursions. We had a lot of fun and can highly recommend this trip.
This tour was the best way to spend our Saturday. 🥰 The weather was perfect, we had an amazing guide (Ryu), the itinerary was well-paced + very organized, and we got to enjoy the spots as much as we could with the time that we had. It’s a very chill yet enjoyable tour, highly recommended to family and friends who want a no-frills tour. 11/10 💯
our guide (Du) was cheerful, knowledgeable, funny and helpful. we really appreciate her zest and useful tips, in 3 languages! she made the whole experience even more interesting. the itinerary was well-paced and not too rushed, giving us time to explore a range of attractions within the allotted time. very pleasant overall, and highly recommended.
I had an amazing day joining the tour to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Yufuin Floral Village, Beppu Ropeway, and Kamado Jigoku departing from Fukuoka. Our first stop was Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, which was beautiful and peaceful. The traditional architecture, bridges, and surrounding nature made it a perfect place to start the trip. It’s also a great spot to experience Japanese culture and take lovely photos. Next, we visited Yufuin Floral Village, which felt like stepping into a fairytale. The small shops, themed buildings, and mountain views were charming. There were lots of cute souvenir stores and snacks to try, making the visit fun and relaxing. One of the highlights was riding the Beppu Ropeway. The view from the cable car was absolutely breathtaking, especially overlooking the mountains and the city of Beppu. It’s a must-try experience if you want to see the beautiful scenery of the area. Finally, we stopped at Kamado Jigoku, one of Beppu’s famous hot spring “hells.”
this was such a fantastic tour. very laid back. good thing i chose tuesday for the tour. luckily there were NO traffic at all! travel to Yufuin from Dazaifu was less than 1.5hrs. WANG our tour guide was such a sweet gal. although if i can suggest one thing - i wish she’d wait a little longer when giving instructions to the group as soon as everyone is outside the bus. i just noticed that she gives instructions to 5-10 people even if most of the group are still on board the bus. we can only hear 1/4 of what she had discussed with the smaller group of people.
The tour is the best way to test your fortitude, see a country off the beaten track, and interact with locals. Unforgettable memories & friendships forged! DU is a very good and nice tour guide, the driver with her was very polite as well, i didn’t get his name but he deserve an appreciation as weel. Highly recommended
Our tour guide, Pandora, was very helpful and made a difference in our day trip. She recommended what to do at each stop and also shared some factoids on each location. She also made a decision to add a rest stop when there was a bad jam back to Fukuoka, which was a godsend as many of us needed the toilet. The overall experience was very good. Highly recommended.
Our tour guide Ms May is very accommodating and knowledgeable of the places we visited. We were immersed in the popular tourist spots in Kyushu. I enjoyed Beppu a lot with the egg, and Spitzer that was provided. Foot soaking also in the hot pool was offered and is a very refreshing experience. book your tour now.
