Fantastic 5.0
Traveling around Hokkaido can be a bit inconvenient, so joining a tour is the best way to visit scenic spots in the countryside. The departure point at the North Exit of Sapporo Station is very easy to find. This time, I joined a tour with PST, led by Hikaru (the guide in the yellow hat). He is fluent in Mandarin, English, and Japanese, and shared a wealth of knowledge about Hokkaido and its local cuisine throughout the trip. His explanations on the bus were very thorough. He spoke in both Mandarin and English, making sure neither group was left out, and delivered them in a lively, engaging, and attentive manner. Hikaru also proactively offered to take photos for everyone, finding the best angles for the tour members. At the souvenir shop, Hikaru introduced the most delicious and useful items without any hard selling. Before leaving, he even handed out drugstore discount coupons. There were 47 people in our group, but everyone was friendly and punctual, and the bus seats were very comfortable. We visited five different attractions in one day, all of which were stunning and featured autumn foliage. It is definitely worth a visit. At only 7,000 yen, this tour is an incredible value with high cost-performance. I highly recommend it to everyone!

All the spots we visited were gorgeous! Our tour guide, Xiao Weng, was also wonderful. He introduced the attractions, gave advice on what to buy and how to make the most of our time, and more. I was originally hesitating between this and another package that included Makkari Village to see Mount Yotei, but I didn't expect that I'd get to see Mount Yotei from the TOYA Observatory today anyway! It was stunning and gave me such a pleasant surprise 🫶🏻 Also, Cape Chikyu is truly worth visiting, though it seems less common in other tour packages. You can see from the videos how calm and gentle the color of the sea is 🫶🏻 Plus, there was actually a refrigerator on the bus! But I left my white pudding behind in the car 🤣 Good thing I was able to contact the staff immediately via WhatsApp. Their customer service was great and their response time was super fast. Highly recommended overall!

We had a wonderful day trip exploring Noboribetsu Hell Valley, Lake Toya, Mount Usu, and the Bear Ranch. A huge shoutout to our guide, Lucy, who was so informative and went out of her way to help us get some wonderful photos. The sights were a real highlight and made for a fantastic day out. The only minor drawback was the transport, as the bus felt a bit cramped for a long-distance journey. Making the seating a bit more spacious would make the ride much more comfortable, but overall it was a really memorable experience thanks to Lucy and the amazing itinerary!

Our tour guide is Yan, she shared with us the some of the history and iconic things in Hokkaido including places to visit and food. Overall had a nice experience as we managed to visit multiple places. Dam: recommend to go up first. Next stop we have opportunity for foot bath, towel is recommend to be bought along. Lake Toya souvenir: yogurt drink and pudding is more special. Showa Shinzo: where we had lunch and got opportunity to go up the roadway if interested. Mount Yotei: bring your empty bottles to collect water!

If you are someone who wants to take their time in one place, this tour isn’t for you. it’s fast-paced and you can visit a lot of places in one day. I especially appreciate the discount tickets that shops hand you when you get off the bus. (I think it was a special discount ticket for those on tour buses). Mila explained the background of the places we went to and recommended go-to-places around Hokkaido.

I do enjoy this tour and highly recommend in you want to explore different area/places within Sapporo. I much better enjoy this compared to yesterday cherryblossom full day tour. Our tour guide Xixi also knowledgeable with the area and appreciate that she emphasize the time to go back in our bus. She also take good picture of me. The weather was also nice which added with the good tour. Perhaps will go back here with Fam and book this tour again. Thank you Klook 🥰

I took the trip with hide cai. I liked the pace and the sites were what I wanted to see. The tour guide spoke English well and was able to provide valuable information about the sites that we visited. The weather also cooperated today and we did not encounter any rain.

We loved our Hokkaido Mount Yotei tour! The hotel pick-up and drop-off made everything so easy, and the small group size kept it relaxing. Our guide, Wei, was right on time and a very safe driver, so we felt totally comfortable the whole day. The schedule wasn't rushed at all, giving us plenty of time to sit back and enjoy each stop. Highly recommend Wei and this tour!

This tour is also one of the best value-for-money trips! I was fortunate enough to visit Hokkaido during the autumn foliage 🍁 season, where I got to see the exceptionally beautiful Fukidashi Park and Lake Toya. Although the ranch we visited in between didn't have many sights to see, you definitely have to try the corn and pumpkin ice cream there. And the scenery at Lake Toya is truly breathtaking beyond belief! Finally, the fireworks seen by the shores of Lake Toya were quite satisfying. Although they can't compare to Hong Kong's typhoon-level fireworks, it was still delightful to get to see 20 minutes of fireworks without paying extra, and watching them from a boat added a special charm. If you have a bit of budget, I recommend buying a ticket to board the boat for the fireworks. Lastly, I'm so grateful to have joined the tour led by guide Chen Meifang! Her explanations were truly lively, engaging, and professional. Those of you who get the chance to join her tour will be able to experience it for yourselves then!

What to know before visiting Abuta

What to expect in Abuta

This Things to Do collection is led by Outdoor & sports activities, then Tours, Cruises, Water activities and Cultural experiences, so you’ll find a mix that suits active days and short guided outings as well as a few premium cultural options. Bookings concentrate in a few high-season months: January is the busiest and July is the quietest. That rhythm means it’s easiest to find space and variety in quieter months, while January often requires more planning to get the same popular slots.

Choosing which activities to book

A key choice is whether you want broad variety or a simple, low-cost option — Outdoor & sports activities offer the widest range, with typical prices around USD 166 and upper-end options near USD 327, so they suit travellers who might want anything from entry-level to premium experiences. By contrast, Cruises have a very narrow price spread around USD 11, so shopping around gains little and they’re the most affordable way to fill gaps in your itinerary.

If you want predictable mid-range spending, Tours sit in a compact band with a typical price near USD 55 and are good when inclusions vary between providers. Cultural experiences are the priciest typical option at USD 287, appealing if you prioritise curated, higher-end activities.

When travellers book activities

Most travellers book about 9 days ahead, while the earliest planners book around 19 days out, so plan on booking one to two weeks ahead for typical availability. The January peak is when that booking cushion matters most.

How activity prices compare

The table below shows typical prices and the usual price range for the city’s top activity categories, so you can place a budget before choosing.

Category Typical Price Usual Range
Outdoor & sports activities USD 166 USD 111 – 327
Tours USD 55 USD 51 – 61
Cruises USD 11 USD 10 – 11
Water activities USD 41 USD 41 – 44
Cultural experiences USD 287 USD 239 – 298

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
