What to expect
Important Notice: As the peak season is approaching and to avoid traffic congestion, tours during the autumn period from October 15 to November 30 will depart 1 hour earlier: (7:00 Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Exit, 7:30 Shinjuku Mode Gakuen). Please take note, dear guests~
First Stop: Toshogu Shrine As the pinnacle sanctuary of Edo art, it is one of Japan’s most representative historical and cultural heritage sites. From the “Three Wise Monkeys” symbolizing wisdom (“see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”), to the “Sleeping Cat” predicting peace, and further to Chinese sages and mythical auspicious beasts, it can be called an encyclopedia of Japanese craftsmanship. Vermilion halls and towering ancient cedars intertwine to create a solemn atmosphere, and the breathtaking imagery of autumn maples dyeing the gold leaf leaves visitors even more breathless.
Second Stop: Irohazaka Slopes (Drive-by, no getting off) Legendary winding roads in Japan, named because the 48 hairpin turns correspond to the 48 characters of the Japanese alphabet. In autumn, the entire road transforms into a three-dimensional gallery interwoven with red and gold, hailed as one of the “World’s Most Beautiful Autumn Color Roads.”
Third Stop: Lake Chuzenji It is the highest volcanic lake in Japan. With azaleas in spring, lush green trees in summer, red leaves in autumn, and snowscapes in winter, it offers scenery across all four seasons. Legend has it that an ancient shrine is sunken at the bottom of the lake, and when mist blankets the area, it resembles the mystical realm of Princess Mononoke.
Fourth Stop: Kegon Falls One of Japan’s top three waterfalls. The water of Lake Chuzenji plunges roaringly from a hundred-meter cliff, and the splashing mist refracts an eternal rainbow in the sunlight. Winter brings another spectacle: cold currents freeze the waterfall into huge icicles, which glow with an ethereal blue light under nighttime illumination, forming a surreal scene with the lakeside cedars. The writer Tokutomi Roka once marveled at this sight as “the embodiment of heaven and earth’s wrath.”

Reviews
Our tour guide Zachary was the best hence, we had the best time and tour at Nikko. Everything was great, places, food, and memories. Our driver was good too.
On this trip, I visited Nikko Toshogu Shrine and the adjacent Futarasan Shrine. I also took the winding mountain road to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji, where I saw Mount Nantai, the Mt. Fuji of Nikko. It was a packed itinerary!
Had a Nice trip to Niko! Everything was exceptionally well-organized and went smoothly without a single hitch. The punctuality and seamless planning made the whole experience stress-free and unforgettable. Highly recommended!
The tour was led by Ko. Super nice guy. Told a lot of interesting things about the history. I would definitely recommend it to everyone!
The Nikko trip was wonderful! The journey was smooth and safe. The driver was very professional, and our guide Jeffrey was knowledgeable and managed the schedule perfectly. Everything was well organized and on time. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide, Jeffery Wang, managed the time very well. It was raining when we departed on September 12th, so there was a delay. The time spent at each attraction was a bit shorter, but we still got to see everything, though we couldn't examine things in as much detail. I hope the travel agency can allow guides to speak only two languages, such as English and Chinese, or English and Japanese. It's too tiring for a guide to speak three languages at once. The driver also drove very steadily, navigating 48 turns and safely getting us to the attractions. I recommend going on weekdays to avoid traffic.
I hope there could be more time to visit each attraction. This group tour was well-paced and packed with activities, and the guide's explanations were detailed and engaging, making it a very rewarding experience. Although the schedule was a bit rushed, the overall atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, making it a wonderful and memorable experience.
It was very enjoyable and Nikko is truly beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Nikko; even though it wasn't peak autumn yet, I was already so happy to see it.
our tour guide was Michael. he speaks clear English and very nice. the tour itself was easy and saves u time and energy. i would do this next time but probably choose a better season like autumn - foliage or when the cherry blossom is in full bloom
We went during Japan's 3-day weekend, so it was very crowded. We went to see the waterfall first. It's special because you have to take an elevator to see it.
