We had such an amazing experience during our Kyoto photoshoot. From the beginning, Mr. Kai made us feel comfortable and guided us naturally through every pose, which helped us enjoy the moment instead of worrying about the camera. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful — every shot captured the atmosphere of Kyoto, the details of our outfits, and the emotions of the day perfectly.

During our trip to Kyoto, renting a kimono and having a photoshoot with Kimono Rental Mocomoco truly became one of the highlights of our visit. That was absolutely amazing! You need to be patient and take more time than you expected - but it’s worth it! I did makeup, kimono rent and hair style - then I had AMAZING photo session!! I will highly recommend it 🥹💙

overall a lovely experience. good selection of kimonos. ting was lovely and offered us a few complimentary additions to our booking. my sister did not get an extra charge for long hair and received an upgraded undergarment with pearl detailing on the neck. as I already did my own hair, I was offered a flower clip to wear. we both got a belt to add detail to the obi. the hair styling staff were lovely. the changing/dressing staff were a little overwhelmed and were less friendly. there were signs to direct people on how to undress and prepare for the kimono fitting but these were not very clear/weren’t pointed out for us to read and the staff were giving very hurried instructions. the lady who got me ready ensured everything was tied correctly and took her time to perfect her work, however the lady who got my sister ready didn’t. it is a small shop with lots of people coming in to use the service so you have to wait around for each part of the service (after choosing your kimono, you wait to get dressed, if getting your hair done you wait and had to wait for payment for hair service after getting ready) . recommend going in early to get a better selection, although there were still people coming in during the late afternoon and still had lovely kimonos to choose from. no secure lockers for personal belongings (a fabric bag is given and you place it on a rack). handbags are provided so we just put our valuables in those and took them with us. nothing was missing from our bags and it was safe. after visiting a smaller shrine and taking photos, we went back to the shop to change our slippers back into trainers as the walk up to Kiyomizu-dera is uphill and lots of walking inside the grounds.

so love that i choose this kimono rental, upgraded to level a bit and its all worth it…the chinese girls are very nice and i had a very good communication

great service. staff can speak Chinese. I added on hair styling service for 2200yen and it was so pretty! location is easy to find and close to Kiyomizudera

I had such a warm and wonderful experience there! The kimonos are so stunning. I chose the light crayon lace kimono, and it turned out even better than I expected. The staff were friendly, lovely, and very kind. They even helped me look for my camera that I accidentally left behind and kept it safe until I came back to collect it. Much appreciated 💖

The photography package is so worth it. after we got changed into our kimonos. you have to walk up towards kiyomizu-dera. it is an uphill street for 10 mins depending how fast you walk. we scheduled for 3pm to get into the rentals and 4pm for the photo shoot. I got dressed under 30 mins, those ladies were FAST. the ladies at the shop gave me his instagram and that’s how we communicated the meet up spot. we met up with our photographer before we got to the top. he took us to a temple near by kiyomizu-deru, less tourist and great for pictures. if you don’t know how to pose, no worries because he will show you exactly how to. he spoke enough English and we got through it without needing google translate. it ended exactly at 1 hour and he even got the pictures back to me next day. I got the 10 edited pictures and 100 raw via email in a zipped file. you’ll have to unzip it to get them. it was 10/10 experience, would recommend.
