Kiyomizu-dera Temple Kimono Rental Experience (Provided by Rental Kimono First, Kyoto)

I seriously recommend this Kimono rental service. It's my third time with group here, but I must admit "Rental Kimono First" is a serious upgrade comparing to previously chosen ones. The staff is very communicative, helpful, attentive. Their shop is really spacious and very clean. The selection is really wide, and the clothing is in really good condition, smelling fresh and looking nice. They also offer some underclothes, which are really useful during colder days. I will definitely come back here with my next groups.

Wonderful kimono rental experience in Kyoto! The staff were very kind and welcoming. Their English was good, and they also had many hairstyle photos to help communicate hair design ideas easily. They even had an interpreter person/device available, which made everything stress-free. We really appreciated that they did not rush us, and the private changing room was awesome and very comfortable. My kids and my mom absolutely loved the experience. The location was also perfect — very close to Kiyomizu-dera, which saved us a lot of walking. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had a great experience enjoying Kyoto in kimonos from FIRST. The couples kimono package is very cost-effective, and this shop includes makeup and styling. For someone like me who struggles with makeup, the makeup had an amazing transformative effect and didn't look like a typical studio job at all. Plus, the shop offers complimentary hairstyles, so if you don't have a specific preference for your hair, you don't actually need to purchase the add-on for styling. Highly recommended, go for it!

It was a really nice experience. Despite being an hour and a half late, they still served us very well, and everything was really good. There are a lot of different kimonos and handbags to choose from. All of them are really beautiful, and we loved it. I highly recommend everyone to rent a kimono from this shop because everything is excellent and all the kimonos are beautiful.

My sister and I had a really great time here. The shop was really clean and pleasing to the eyes, and the attendants were so nice and welcoming. I originally paid for a Kimono. But, given than it was very hot today (31C!), I was advised that it would be better for me to choose a premium Yukata. There was a good assortment for this kind! I loved the Obaasan who dressed me! She was so kind; the shop attendants called her a “professional”. And she was very meticulous! Even though I didn’t speak much Japanese, she was still so kind as to converse with me. Highly recommended!
