Transport i Hokkaido

I used the JR Hokkaido Furano Pass during my summer trip, and it was definitely worth it. It made traveling between Furano, Biei, and Asahikawa easy without buying separate tickets. The trains were clean, comfortable, and always on time. The scenery was the best part. Every ride offered beautiful views of flower fields, forests, rivers, and mountains, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations. The pass also gave me the freedom to explore without worrying about transportation costs. The only downside is that train services in rural Hokkaido are limited, so careful planning is necessary. Some attractions are also a bit far from the stations and may require a bus, bicycle, or a longer walk. Overall, the JR Hokkaido Furano Pass offers great value and is a convenient way to experience the beauty of central Hokkaido. I would happily use it again.

The "Free Hong Kong Mail" for the voucher was delivered by SF Express. I placed the order today (Monday) and received it the next day (Tuesday), which is extremely efficient. The last time I visited Hokkaido via Sapporo Airport, I deliberately skipped Hakodate because taking the Hokkaido Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori Station to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, then transferring to the JR Hakodate Main Line to Hakodate Station, only takes about 1.5 hours. This is much more convenient than the over 3.5-hour journey from Sapporo to Hakodate. For a relaxed trip for middle-aged travelers, the route Sendai - Aomori - Hakodate - Hachinohe - Sendai, using a JR Pass to reserve seats for free at the designated seat ticket machines, allows you to enjoy leisurely times and various delicious foods. It's very cost-effective and worthwhile.

Resplanen för denna resa var: Dag 1: Från Narita flygplats med Narita Express (N'EX) till Tokyo station, sedan byte till Shinkansen till Yamagata station. Dag 2: Från Yamagata → Shinjo → Oishida → Yamagata. Ursprungligen skulle vi åka båt på Mogamigawa, men på grund av kraftigt snöfall vände vi om och åkte till Ginzan Onsen. Dag 3: Tidigt på morgonen åkte vi linbana till Zao, på eftermiddagen tog vi Shinkansen från Yamagata → Fukushima → Sendai → Tazawako. Dag 4: Vi tog en buss runt Tazawako-sjön, sedan Tazawako → Morioka → Shin-Aomori (sträckan Shin-Aomori → Aomori var inställd på grund av snöfall, så vi tog buss in till staden). Dag 5: Sightseeing i Aomori stad. Shin-Aomori → Shin-Hakodate → Shin-Hakodate → Hakodate (JR Pass och Hakodate Liner kan också användas!). Vi tog linbanan upp till Hakodate-berget för att se nattutsikten. Dag 6: Utforskning av Hakodate stad. Hakodate → Toya (Hokuto) → Toya station → Toyako Onsen (buss). På kvällen njöt vi av Toya Winter Illumination & Music Fireworks Festival, vilket var otroligt vackert.

I really like Japan's rail passes; they're so convenient. As long as you plan your itinerary before your trip, the passes offer excellent value. This 4-day pass allowed me to visit Noboribetsu, Otaru, Shiraoi, and Chitose (the Shikotsu Lake bus portion was paid separately), all of which are incredibly beautiful places.

It was a pleasant experience. The pickup location was convenient and easy to find. The driver was polite and carefully helped with our luggage. The tour bus was very comfortable, allowing us to enjoy the scenery along the way. We stopped once at a rest area so we could use the restroom. Upon arrival at our destination, the hotel staff warmly welcomed us. If you're not driving yourself, this bus is definitely the ideal choice for traveling from Sapporo to Tomamu.

Mr. Li was our driver, and there were 6 adults in total (the children are quite large and already in high school). The driver was very kind, giving him a hundred points 💯. He would confirm the time the day before! He also drove slowly, allowing me to take pictures of the Shonan Monorail in Fujisawa 💕. Because the elders were almost 80 years old, they didn't have the energy to go to Enoshima station, so thankfully we chartered a car. We quickly got in the car and returned to the hotel, and the overtime was calculated reasonably. I hope the company can provide a larger vehicle for 6 adults in the future, otherwise it's a bit too cramped 😂 Cleanliness: Very good 👍 Service: Very good 👍
