This is mostly a self-guided tour. Your guide on the bus will provide some information before arriving at an area, but then you're on your own. It would have been nice to have a little more information on Shirakawa-go regarding how the houses are built or the lifestyle of the people living there.

This was a great trip! Hotel pickup and drop-off were super convenient. I highly recommend this tour for independent travelers; all the attractions are within walking distance. Our driver, Xiao Di, was very thoughtful and told us about all the best shopping streets and markets. The itinerary was well-planned, making for a wonderful experience.

On May 16, 2026, I joined a one-day tour, and the weather was absolutely beautiful 🌞. Our guide, Harry, was British, very kind and enthusiastic. Our fellow tour members were also very nice. Harry reminded us when to gather at each attraction and enthusiastically helped us take photos. With this tour, there's no need to worry about how to buy cable car tickets or how to get to the cable car station; Klook handles all the arrangements. We took two cable cars up to Kamikochi, and from the cable car, we could gaze at the distant high mountains, seeing Japan's Alps – it was truly stunning! Because the weather was exceptionally good, we even saw the super distant Mount Haku. Our guide said we were very lucky to be able to see it. Then we went to Taisho Pond to see its clear stream, and walked to Kappa Bridge to admire the same mountains from a different perspective. The scenery along the way was truly breathtakingly beautiful! It's definitely worth a visit! 👍

Guide Hemi was very relaxed, and the entire trip was easygoing and flowed smoothly. Thanks to his foresight regarding the weather changes, our group fully enjoyed the clear view of the Northern Alps!
