Things to do in Shorenji Temple

On May 16, 2026, I took a one-day group tour, and the weather was absolutely beautiful 🌞. Our tour guide, Harry, was British, very kind and enthusiastic, and our fellow travelers were also very nice. Harry reminded us when to meet at each attraction and enthusiastically helped us take photos. With this tour, there's no need to worry about buying cable car tickets or transportation to the cable car; Klook handles all the arrangements. We took two cable cars up to Kamikochi, where we could gaze at the distant high mountains from above, seeing Japan's Alps – it was truly stunning! Because the weather was so incredibly good, we even saw the very distant Mount Haku, and our guide said we were very lucky to see it. Then we went to Taisho Pond to see its clear stream, and walked to Kappa Bridge to view the same mountains from a different perspective. The scenery along the entire route was breathtakingly beautiful! It's definitely worth a visit! 👍

The 2 places visited worth for it. enjoy eating the famous hida beef ramen , puddings at Takayama old street. Shirakawago indeed a very nice place to visit even we have only 2 hrs.

Guide Hemi was a very chilled and the entire trip was easy going and smooth flowing. Thanks to his foresight on the weather changes, our group fully enjoyed the clear view of the Northern Alps! The day trip also covers well on the intended locations. Thank you again Hemi (and Fiorentina) and we strongly recommend to go on this trip!

The day trip is very convenient, and you can bring a stroller. The itinerary is a bit rushed, so we recommend choosing a tour that includes lunch to allow more time for sightseeing.

Our guide, Xiao Yu, was incredibly thorough, explaining each attraction in detail before we arrived. She also recommended shops, which made us feel very confident that we wouldn't miss anything. She even provided a gourmet food guide for Nagoya at the end. The included lunch was an excellent choice; the wagyu hot pot was delicious, and we could get refills of rice and soup. We realized upon reaching the attractions that finding a restaurant easily isn't always possible, so having lunch included was definitely the right decision.

The tour guide was very thoughtful, sending information about shops, restaurants, and souvenir stores at the attractions even before departure. During the trip, there was a longer driving time, so the guide also scheduled a 15-minute rest stop at a service area. Before arriving at each attraction, a brief cultural introduction was provided, and upon arrival, the guide gave a simple explanation to travelers before allowing free time.

It’s a nice day trip that lets you visit two amazing places. Since it’s an organized tour, don’t expect that you will have enough time to roam around. I booked this tour so I don’t have to worry about transportation and it’s been great!
