It was basically a self-guided walk after the glass-making demonstration. It wasn't as lively as I had expected, and you can tell that both towns are slowly declining as these traditional artisan industries struggle to survive. In fact, very few young people want to learn these crafts anymore because the work requires years of dedication. In Burano, only about 20 women are said to still possess the traditional lace-making skills. Despite that, the museum is well worth a visit, as it provides valuable insight into the history of Venetian craftsmanship and helps you appreciate these remarkable artistic traditions.

There were many groups at the meeting point, and I had to ask each one to find out which was mine. I participated in the three-island tour, and there were many travelers with different itineraries within this group. So, on the way to the second island, pay close attention to the meeting time for your specific plan. If you miss it, you can also ask the staff. On the first island, Murano (Glass Island), you can admire glass craftsmanship and also buy glass art. The second island is Burano (Colorful Island), where we had lunch and took photos with the colorful houses. The third island, Torcello (Cathedral Island), was very peaceful. There was enough time to explore each island, so it didn't feel rushed. The tour guide on the boat explained things diligently, but the boat's noise was too loud, so it was hard to hear, which was a pity. There are two disembarkation points on the return journey, so pay special attention to that as well.

Es ist eine sehr lange Tagestour, aber es lohnt sich. Sie starten pünktlich und die fast 3-stündige Fahrt war entspannt, da sich zwei Fahrer abwechselten, wobei der Wechsel sehr schnell ging und nur etwa eine Minute dauerte. Abgesehen von der kurzen Stadtführung durch Venedig arrangierte unser Reiseleiter auch eine 25-minütige Gondelfahrt (optional) gegen eine zusätzliche Gebühr für uns. Die Transfers sind ebenfalls gut organisiert mit angemessenen Toilettenpausen. Es ist definitiv eine gute Möglichkeit, Venedig bei einem engen Zeitplan zu sehen oder wenn Sie nicht über Nacht (oder zwei Nächte) dort bleiben möchten.
