Passeios por Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

For my first time in Chiang Mai, I couldn't miss Wat Doi Suthep, so I joined a Klook tour. I felt very reassured as I could confirm the detailed itinerary via email from the time of booking until the day of the tour. On the day itself, the guide, who spoke English, Chinese, and Thai, was very considerate towards us Japanese participants and provided explanations in kind, gentle English. I thoroughly enjoyed participating.

The evening departure was a great arrangement, as the weather was much cooler, and we were able to visit two suburban temples in one go, which was very worthwhile. Although it rained lightly that day, our guide, Ms. DADA, was very dedicated and explained everything clearly. Overall, this is a worthwhile tour to join. However, the only confusing part was the inconsistent language information: the search page indicated "Chinese guided tour," but when clicking into the activity page, it stated "English/Thai guided tour," and the actual tour was indeed conducted in English. I believe this should be more clearly indicated, otherwise, with many similar tours in the search results, it's difficult to distinguish between them.

Because it rained for the entire 3-hour hike that day, the trail conditions required extra attention. However, for sections requiring hands and feet, I believe children over 10 years old could also hike if the weather were better. Along the way, the guide will monitor the trail conditions and clear obstacles in advance. The scenery is beautiful. If you want to spend half a day experiencing Chiang Mai's nature, this is highly recommended. We left the city around 9:30 AM and returned around 3:30 PM. During this time, we first visited Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, then began the 3-hour hike, and finally ended at a cozy cafe with coffee and food. After an hour of rest, we drove back. It is recommended to bring mosquito repellent, a change of clothes, sufficient water, and a raincoat.

Our guide, New, was incredibly professional and charming. She shared a wealth of knowledge and history about Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. For the Hmong village, I recommend walking to the mountaintop for coffee, but you'll have to pass through a very ordinary and small museum along the way.

Our tour guide, Long Le, was fluent in Chinese, provided detailed explanations, and offered warm and thoughtful service. He picked us up promptly in the morning and took us to Doi Suthep, where we visited Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and overlooked the city of Chiang Mai. Afterwards, we went down the mountain to visit Chiang Mai University, where we saw newlyweds taking wedding photos and local children sketching. Then we went to the nearby Cafe No. 39 for a rest and a meal. It was very crowded, but luckily we found outdoor seating. It was very pleasant to listen to the singer perform. The last stop was Wat Chedi Luang, a must-visit in Chiang Mai, which was very magnificent. The whole trip was relaxed and enjoyable, especially suitable for families with children and seniors. We are especially grateful to our tour guide, who even gave us a ride to the market to buy groceries on the way back, which we had been looking for ourselves for a long time without success. We were very satisfied. The seniors were very happy.

The half-day tour was incredibly satisfying.The guide was kind and fun, and taught us a lot about Chiang Mai.I participated alone, and there were no extra charges, which was great.
