This was my first solo trip to Poland. I was debating whether to go until the day before, thinking I might not get another chance, so I looked for a tour. Of course, there were no openings anywhere the day before, and I had given up when I found this tour on Klook! What's more, there were tours departing every hour from 7 AM to 2 PM, which was incredibly lucky. I received the voucher immediately after booking, and it specified the meetup location: across the road from the Mercure Hotel. I was picked up at 9 AM. On the day, I was the only person. I got into the car and was driven to Auschwitz, which took 1.5 hours. The driver's driving was very careful. Upon arrival, the driver handed me a paper ticket, and I went to the counter. Here, I received a sticker. The sticker indicated the guide's language and time. Mine was for the 10:45 AM English session. I said goodbye to the driver before the security check. We could communicate via WhatsApp. When I informed him that the tour had ended, he came to pick me up right away. The tour was a group of about 20 people, walking through Auschwitz and Birkenau. We traveled between Auschwitz and Birkenau by free shuttle bus. After visiting Auschwitz, there was a 15-minute break, where I used the restroom. It was quite crowded for women, so it was a close call. I was the only solo participant on the tour. Coincidentally, I was also the only Asian person. The guide explained everything in a consistently calm manner. There were no flashy presentations or videos. However, what happened there could be understood from the pictures, photographs, personal belongings, and remaining buildings. Photos and videos were allowed. There were some restricted areas, so I recommend listening carefully to the guide's explanations and visiting with respect. Since there's a lot of walking, comfortable shoes, rain gear, and water are essential. It was early July, but it was cold, so I also recommend bringing a jacket. On the way back, the driver asked where I wanted to be dropped off (perhaps because I was alone?). I was dropped off at the same kiss & ride as the pick-up, and then I explored the Old Town before heading back. If you're coming to Poland, I highly recommend visiting. You can participate alone; in fact, I think going alone is better as you can engage with the experience more earnestly without idle chatter.

It was great that the meeting place was easy to find. The gathering spot and other details were also very clear. It was a wonderful experience to visit such an important place for studying ancient history. The guide was also extremely clear and easy to understand.

The tour began by descending a spiral staircase, then we started walking through the salt mine. Our guide let us touch the crystallized salt on the walls and taste it. There was running water, and after touching it, our hands were covered in salt once they dried, indicating the high concentration. The salt mine was practically a small city, complete with a lake and a church! When I originally booked the tour, it included hotel pickup, but the day before, I was informed that I needed to wait at a bus stop. Luckily, it wasn't far from my accommodation, so it was easy to walk there.

It was a bit disappointing that some well-known songs, often heard in Japan and easy for beginners to understand, were not played. However, the performance was absolutely wonderful and well worth the time.

I highly recommend to book this trip if you are visiting Warsaw. The best views across Warsaw.

The content was substantial, and I learned a great deal. The audio guide was very helpful. Following the guide took about two hours. I think it would have been less tiring if I had taken breaks at the restrooms or cafes along the way.

Patryk is a fantastic driver! Very considerate and responsible in driving everyone back to their original hotels.

While I am not a big fan of piano play. This live performance did provide a quite valuable experience. I enjoyed the entire show. In particular, I highly appreciate the host and pianist’ patience and kindness. Due to errors in finding the location, my group was late for nearly 10 minutes. Thankfully, they waited for us to start. Very impressed.

Si tiene poco tiempo en Cracovia, este recorrido vale mucho la pena. Tuve 3 días en la ciudad y esta única excursión cubrió 3 cosas que quería hacer. Si tiene un poco más de tiempo, le recomendaría repartir los recorridos en distintos días. Después de Auschwitz, ir a Birkenau justo después fue muy duro. La información fue desgarradora y sobria; para cuando llegamos a las minas de sal, ya estaba muy cansada. Recomiendo mucho este recorrido. El personal fue muy amable, puntual y atento. ¡Además, estas entradas le permiten saltarse todas las filas, lo cual es una gran ventaja!

This tour is highly recommended if you are staying in Krakow for more than 2 days! Tasting the traditional cheese and vodka was a very special experience! The scenery was great too!
