We took the Shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa station. Then, we took the Iwappara shuttle bus from the east exit. You will pass the rental shop Bear Sports just before the first shuttle bus stop. Get off at the first bus stop (Resort Center 1). Then, walk to the rental shop Bear Sports. Show your booking, and the shop will provide everything you need, including gear rental and full wear (jacket & pants). You may want to rent a safety helmet, ski goggles, or even gloves there. After that, walk to Resort Center 1 (a 5-minute walk from the rental shop Bear Sports, as you will be wearing ski boots by then, making it much slower to walk). Exchange your entry ticket/lift pass for Iwappara, and then you can take the ski lift up to the hill where you can start skiing. On your return trip, take the free shuttle bus from Resort Center 2, get off at the Resort Center 1 bus stop, walk to the rental shop Bear Sports to return the ski gear and wear. Then, return to the bus stop to catch the next shuttle bus to Echigo Yuzawa station. Be sure to check the shuttle bus schedule.

Definitely buy! Excellent value for money! Cheaper than buying directly from the Iwahara Ski Resort official website. Location: Process: 1. Take the Iwahara Ski Resort shuttle bus at "Hotel Green Plaza Naeba Joetsu Information Center" (you can search for the timetable on Google) and get off at "Iwahara Ski Resort Resort Center 1." 2. Walk 2 minutes to the ski rental shop "Rental Ski Shop Bear" and show your proof to get your equipment. 3. Walk back to "Iwahara Ski Resort Resort Center 1" and show your proof to exchange for a day ski pass. Enjoy!
Super convenient location, very easy to take the Shinkansen in Tokyo, excellent value for money. The process of renting ski equipment was smooth, and the staff were very friendly. The Iwahara ski resort is large and suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers.
After taking the village bus to the Resort, the shop is about 50 meters away from where you alight. The whole process is very smooth. Afterwards, you can collect your cable car tickets at the red house ahead and take the cable car directly up for skiing, which is very convenient.
The landlady is very attentive and thoughtful. You can take the cable car in 3 minutes on foot. The equipment is also excellent. Helmets and anti-fall gloves are not included in the service. Helmets need to be rented externally, and you just need to prepare other things yourself.

Honestly, it's super convenient. The rental shop is just a 2-3 minute walk from the ski resort, and the clothes are quite clean. The overall price is affordable and great value. It's simply fantastic!
