You can exchange tickets at both ticket counters in Yuzawa Nakazato. After exchanging, go to the rental shop to fill out a form (basic information, foot size, rented equipment, etc.) and pick up your gear. Both locations have rental shops, but the platform only sells adult lift tickets plus equipment rental. For children under 13, you need to purchase tickets separately on-site. We recommend a 5-hour lift ticket for children, which should be sufficient unless the whole family has exceptional stamina and plans to ski from opening to closing. Otherwise, 5 hours is definitely enough. We rented equipment at both rental shops in Yuzawa Nakazato. We found the equipment at the rental shop near Lift No. 3 to be newer, and the skis were easier to get on. The equipment rented at the other location felt stiff and was difficult to put on. Also, Lift No. 3 is suitable for beginners. Equipment rented through the platform must be returned on the same day. If you buy a two-day pass, you'll need to go through the rental process again the next day. The advantage is that you don't have to carry your ski gear around, but the downside is that it takes extra time to rent equipment.

#This was my first experience. I bought a cable car ticket, but I didn't get a chance to use it because I was practicing in the beginner area the whole time. I feel that first-time beginners don't need to buy a cable car ticket, as even with a full day of practice, you might not make it up the mountain (this might be a personal thing). If you really need to take the cable car, I suggest buying a ticket on the spot. #Ski suit rental does not include a safety helmet. As a beginner, I initially thought a helmet would be safer, but then I noticed that no one around me was using one, and I was practicing in the beginner area the whole time, so the need for a helmet wasn't great. Plus, it was quite cumbersome, and a helmet costs an additional 100 yen. #The ski resort does not charge an entrance fee. If you have your own ski equipment, you can actually take your children to the beginner area to play in the snow. #Yuzawa is very convenient to get to from Tokyo, requiring less than a two-hour Shinkansen ride. #The ski resort provides a free shuttle bus directly from the Shinkansen station, running every half hour.

When renting equipment, there was a long queue, but getting shoes and boards was quick. There was only one style of shoes; the board I received this time was a bit short and had some damage on the edges. It's best to take photos beforehand to avoid disputes.

It was so fun to see so much snow, and attempt skiiing/snotboarding. For sure if you dont know how to ski or snowboard, pay for lessons prior to your trip or get lessons there. thers not really a lot of space for you to play and practice around without bumping into anyone who isn't take a lesson. There's plenty of space for slopes and space for kids.

The ski resort is quite good. Using discount coupons makes it cheaper than buying a one-day pass and renting equipment on-site. It's suitable for beginner skiers and is also very close to Hotel Angel.
