Our trip was really nice with a very sweet guide, Eiko-san. The Romantic Train was one of the most romantic experiences in Kyoto. Our chauffeur was really sweet and gave us a comfortable ride to all locations. Due to rain, the boat ride was canceled, but she took us around the bamboo forest and temple instead of the boat ride due to bad weather. I definitely recommend this trip 💯

I took this tour with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Aki, was kind, informative, and always made sure no one was left behind. I really enjoyed the historical facts she provided as we walked through the gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple. The photos speak for themselves regarding how beautiful it was. After reading the reviews, I wasn't expecting much from the lunch buffet, but I actually liked it. It gave me Japanese school camp mess hall vibes and was tasty. Everything went according to plan, and based on my experience, I would 100% recommend this tour. However, I understand that some people are unlucky when the boat ride is canceled due to low water levels or excessive rain, and the river ride is a huge part of the experience. It was a very beautiful experience, starting with a romantic train ride, then a river cruise; it was so much fun! The buffet was nice too, and then it was the perfect time to stroll around Arashiyama. Our tour guide was very informative and helpful.

This half day tour was the highlight of our holiday we are so glad we booked it. Absolute value for money. Excellent guide and very funny boatmen who work hard for their money. I would recommend to anyone visiting Arashiyma. Don’t forget to try the tofu ice cream after the bamboo forest, it’s pretty good.

Aki, our Japanese guide, was excellent and explained everything thoroughly during this all-English tour! Since we couldn't book the Sagano Scenic Railway tickets online during the peak autumn foliage season, joining this tour was incredibly convenient. We didn't have to queue ourselves in advance; we just leisurely enjoyed the train and boat rides, everything was perfectly arranged! The buffet lunch was a lifesaver in the crowded Arashiyama; I was so glad it was included, allowing us to enjoy our meal without battling the crowds. Today was probably the most relaxing day of my independent trip, highly recommended!

I tried to book the Sagano train, but it seemed difficult. So, I eventually decided to book a tour, even though it was much pricier, as it included transportation and the tour itself. This tour offered two options: a half-day option, which included just the train and boat ride plus a buffet lunch, and a full-day option, which also included an afternoon trip to Uji Byodoin Temple, featuring the Phoenix Hall and a matcha demonstration. It was a good trip. You should note that for the full-day trip, there wasn't enough time in Arashiyama to visit the bamboo groves and Tenryu-ji Temple. The guide was nice, although they weren't able to provide much historical background information. Overall, it was a good trip.

Pros: 1. Clear meeting point, detailed instructions will be sent via email. 2. The tour guide speaks English and introduces attractions and photo spots along the way. 3. This package is great for those who want to visit two attractions at once. 4. A travel package will arrange transportation back to Kyoto to connect with other transport. Cons: 1. The itinerary is too rushed; after getting off at the Sagano Scenic Railway's final station, you have to immediately rush to catch the bus, leaving no time to visit souvenir shops. 2. The value for money isn't very high, as the tickets for the scenic railway and Hozugawa River boat ride cost less than HKD 400, but this tour costs nearly HKD 800. 3. The package does not include the Kyoto Railway Museum. Klook did not state that if the weather is bad and the Hozugawa River boat ride is canceled, it would be replaced with a visit to the Kyoto Railway Museum. Tips: 1. If you want to ride the scenic railway, it is recommended to sit on the right side of the train (towards Kameoka). 2. If you are taking the boat, it is recommended to use the restroom beforehand, as the boat trip is approximately 2 hours long. 3. If you are taking the boat, it is recommended to sit on the right side (towards Arashiyama).

We really enjoyed the trip, the views were beautiful and our tour guide was excellent. The only disappointment was that the boat ride was cancelled due to the rain, but the tour guide informed us that we will receive a refund. Overall, it was a great experience!
