Skiing and Snow Play The children wanted to play in the snow and ski, so we decided to go to Shenzhen on Saturday and return to Hong Kong on Sunday. To make the most of the two days and save time, we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is just a few minutes' walk from Kaloo Ice and Snow World. Neither my husband nor I know how to ski, so we booked a coach in advance. We used WeChat to book a Cantonese-speaking coach and only paid for the lessons after confirming the coach's availability. On the first day, the two children learned snowboarding with a 1-on-1 coach, each learning for two full hours. By the middle to late stage of the lesson, the coach was already taking the children down the slope. 😅 We don't usually exercise, so we were tired after two hours of learning. Afterwards, we checked into the hotel, went shopping, and found something to eat. On the second day, our elder son continued to learn snowboarding, while our younger daughter switched to learning skiing (double boards). They still had 1-on-1 Cantonese-speaking coaches and learned for two full hours. Since our elder son had already learned snowboarding the day before, he started skiing from the top of the slope right away, with the coach teaching him other techniques. Our younger daughter, new to skiing, was first taught techniques on a small gentle slope, and by the end of the first hour, the coach had already taken her up the slope to ski. Both coaches accompanied them throughout, providing a great sense of security. Both children had a great time skiing and felt a strong sense of accomplishment. After two hours of lessons, they rested and then went straight to play in the "snow entertainment" area. The children found the "snow entertainment" area a lot of fun, burying themselves in snow, playing on slides, pretending to see the aurora borealis, pulling snow sleds... From a child's perspective, there were many facilities to play with. Kaloo's snow entertainment area and ski area are in the same venue. We wanted to watch our children ski, so we bought snow entertainment tickets and stood nearby to watch. If you don't want to watch skiing, you can leave the children with the coach, and parents can wait in the lobby without paying for admission or entry fees. Along both sides of the ski slope, there were staff members at the high, middle, and low sections to maintain order and provide assistance. At the top of the slope, staff controlled how many people skied down at a time, preventing everyone from sliding down at once and colliding. In the middle section of the slope, if someone fell and couldn't get up, staff helped them. At the bottom of the slope, staff moved along people who had finished skiing and were standing around chatting and taking photos, keeping the slope clear. These arrangements made me feel at ease, ensuring the children's safety while skiing. There were many young children playing in the snow entertainment area, and staff members were also present to maintain order and prevent skiers from skiing in that area. I don't know why, but some skiers would go into the snow entertainment area to ski. I saw a snowboard almost hit a child, which really gave me a fright. Fortunately, the staff saw it and intervened. Overall, it was a good experience, and the children want to go to Kaloo again. We look forward to our next visit.
It was fun, but the queuing was chaotic. When we arrived, we were told to get a number, but then the snack bar, which was too busy, had already sold out. We waited for an hour and saw groups being allowed in. Then they said we could just enter with a QR code, without needing to follow the number sequence. When we got to the gate, they said there were no ski suits available, but that the timing would still start once we entered, meaning we would lose out. In short, their policies change constantly, and groups are prioritized. The whole day was just queuing. Although it was incredibly crowded inside, it was really fun, and the children had a great time.
It’s a good deal to ski in the night session as the price is cheaper and there are generally less people in the park. But it was dark everywhere else except the ski place
It took longer than expected to receive the QR code for entry, about two hours for me. Other than that, the experience was fine. The place is good for kids and beginners.
The experience surpassed our expectations. We went with our family of two adults and two children, and we all had a blast. It's really nice that they provide snow boots and snow jackets. There's also a lot to do outside the snow complex, like the amusement park, which is pay-per-ride.
Two hours of snow fun was great and enough! It's very close to the Hard Rock Hotel, about a ten-minute walk. We went on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, and it wasn't too crowded when we scanned the QR code at the entrance to get tickets. It's not huge inside, but it's just right for beginners and kids to play in the snow, and it's not too cold, which is nice. There are also heated rooms and snacks for sale inside. The snowsuits were quite clean; at least the ones we wore didn't smell. It turns out there are many people selling gloves and snowman clip toys outside the park entrance, so you don't need to go to the mall to buy them beforehand (we found many malls had sold out). The gloves and snow clips sold inside aren't too expensive either; gloves at the park's snack bar are $25-35, and snow clips are $10, which is reasonable! Next time, when the kids are older, we can try skiing! Remember to set an alarm for your entry time to change clothes and return them in advance before leaving. After playing in the snow, you can also go to the amusement park! Each ride is $15-30, which is quite cheap! The most unexpected thing was the skywalk bicycle ride! The Dragon Year exclusive for $107 is a great deal!
The snow entertainment venue is quite large, with a very long ice slide. The environment inside is very cold, and there's plenty of snow. The admission fee includes a snow jacket, snow pants, snow boots, and a free locker. You only need to bring your own gloves, and there's also a shop on-site where you can buy them. The jackets and pants are relatively clean, but the snow boots are quite old, some are broken, and they have an odor. However, overall it was good, and we had a lot of fun.
First time here, played in the snow play area with the kids. The slides were fun and exciting, and there's also a warm snack room for families to rest. The facilities are comprehensive; you only need to bring your own snow gloves. However, if it's crowded, there might not be enough lockers, so keep valuables with you. With the kids, we had so much fun we didn't want to leave. The 2-hour package flew by. If we come again, we'll definitely extend our time and try the adult ski area. It was a great experience.
It's good enough for beginners, especially suitable for younger children. The snow play area offers a variety of ice and snow activities, such as spiral slides, snow tubing, sledding, and snowmobiles, which are very popular with children. There will also be many other decorations in the venue, such as ice sculptures and Arctic-style architecture, making the park feel even more like a winter wonderland. There are many photo opportunities for visitors to enjoy.
很棒的地方,對香港人來說非常方便,適合初學者或中級使用者。價格包含服裝和設備。
