Monte Cook e Tour Alpino Definitivo saindo de Queenstown

A great experience with Cheeky Kiwi! It was a long 12h day with the 4h drive to and fro Queenstown, but our guide Bob filled it with interesting commentary, ample rest stops and most importantly, made sure everyone was safe (the road conditions in July is dangerous). Our tour had 10 of us, with a mix of people who booked the Ultimate Alpine package and those who booked just the Mt Cook tour. We were really worried because the weather forecast was poor and all flights were cancelled for the past few days, but the sun came through and the skies cleared right before our time slot (phew!) The views were breathtaking! We took the ski plane up to the Tasman Glacier (roughly 30min from boarding to landing), landed on thick, pristine snow (our legs sunk in to the shin, so wear boots!), then made our way across the snow to the helicopter which we took back to the airport. Afterwards, we only had about 30mins to do the Hooker Valley track due to time constraints, which was a pity but in no way the fault of our guide. Overall, this experience may be a bit pricey but definitely worth it especially if you’re not driving/not confident in driving in winter.

disappointed that our flight got cancelled due to windy weather, however it’s still amazing tour overall. Kimberly the tour guide from cheekykiwi is friendly and a good driver. we wish there was more time at the stops along the way though.

It's because of the helicopter tour! The helicopter ride was really fun and a great experience! It's been a long time since I've had so much fresh salmon sashimi!

The local tour guide was incredibly kind. They stopped at restrooms, cafes, and restaurants along the way. I came on a walking tour and thought I wouldn't be able to eat salmon, but even though it wasn't the salmon restaurant near Lake Pukaki, we stopped at another salmon restaurant by a lake and enjoyed a delicious meal. I didn't realize it was a 50-minute flight because it wasn't clearly stated on the detailed page. It felt like we waited about 1 hour and 30 minutes from arriving at the boarding point until we actually took off. We went by light aircraft, landed in the middle, swapped with other helicopter guests, and came back by helicopter. It was a fun experience. The sunlight coming into the helicopter was intense, so make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen, and the reflection from the snow on the snowy mountains is strong, so sunglasses are a must. I thought we would fly for 40 minutes out of 50 and land for about 10 minutes, but we flew for 15 minutes, landed for 20 minutes, and flew back for 15 minutes. Honestly, the landing wasn't particularly exciting, so personally, if I were to go again, I'd consider skipping the landing and just doing the 30-minute course; I think the price would be better and it would be more enjoyable. As a Korean who can't speak English, it was a bit sad that I couldn't understand the guide's English.

Amazing trip! Water and refreshment were provided during the tour. The view is breathtaking. The tour guide Jonathan had done wonderful job.
