Nascer do sol em Borobudur (Colina/Templo com Subida) e Excursão de Jeep em Merapi

Woke up extremely early! Estri was very kind. The path to see the sunrise had no streetlights that day, which was super scary. I walked up the mountain alone in the dark, but thankfully, others joined me later. We couldn't see much of the sunrise that day due to many clouds, but it turned into a super beautiful misty mountain landscape. A local guy helped me take photos and then asked for a tip. Since I was traveling alone and had no one to help with photos, I agreed. Borobudur is indeed a very unique place, but it seems you always need to go with a guide. Afterward, we went on a jeep tour. Driving the jeep on the small paths, I felt like I was in a video game scene, which was a great feeling. Finally, we drove the jeep through water and got wet, it was a really fun day!

I recently booked the “Sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu, Borobudur Temple, with Merapi Jeep Ride” trip through Klook, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Udik, was exceptional. He made sure everything ran smoothly and added thoughtful touches throughout the trip. After the breathtaking sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu, Udik bought us snacks for the descent and later took us to enjoy Kopi Luwak while we waited for our special access to Borobudur Temple. Despite booking just one day in advance, we managed to get Session 2 for the temple visit, thanks to Udik’s efficiency. Udik was incredibly respectful and helpful, assisting us with taking numerous photos to capture the memories. I highly recommend him and this tour to anyone looking for an enriching and well-organized experience. Thank you Udik, for making this trip so special!

Sayangnya tidak mendapatkan matahari terbit di Setumbu, tetapi di Borobudur mendapatkan sesi pertama pada pukul 8.30 dan itu bagus. Kemudian pergi ke Tur Jeep Merapi, tidak mendapatkan pemandangan Merapi karena tertutup awan dan kabut. Berdasarkan informasi dari penduduk setempat, lebih baik berkunjung ke Merapi pada pagi hari, langitnya cerah.

We had a great time! Our guide, Udik, went above and beyond to give us an unforgettable trip. I would recommend this package to a bunch of history nerds. For ladies, personally I think it’s fine to wear a dress even though you get on a 4x4. Just take note that in the Merapi portion of the tour, there’s an option to pay for a longer ATV ride where you go through a river (and will get wet) so plan ahead for that. Also, bring a hat and an umbrella — it gets hot! Even though I am from Southeast Asia and am used to the humid weather, it was still very warm. Overall, this was a great experience!

Our driver Supri picked us up at 3:30 AM sharp. He was very pleasant and gave us a lot of information about the history of Borobudur. The ride was smooth. When we arrived at the temple, our guide took us on a tour around the temple, explaining its history before sunrise. Then he found a perfect spot for us to view the sunrise, which was awesome. He even helped us take beautiful and memorable photographs. The buffet breakfast was good. After breakfast, Supri took us to a luwak coffee shop, which was actually not in the itinerary, and that was amazing. The trip to Mount Merapi was really adventurous with the jeep ride, and we really enjoyed it, even though it was raining. Thanks, Supri, for the memorable time we had in Yogyakarta.

It was a seamless experience with Klook! Our driver, Lina, picked us up early and we were off to Borobudur for the sunrise experience. The view from the top of the temple was absolutely beautiful. The steps up the temple were rather steep for my elderly mum but she managed to get to the top! After breakfast at Manohara Hotel, we headed to Mt Merapi for our Jeep tour. We were lucky that our Jeep driver was extremely knowledgeable - he used to live in the area. He was also helpful and always offered to take photographs of us. At the end of it all, Lina drove us back to the hotel. I’m glad we booked this package on Klook - indeed, there was nothing to worry about, allowing us to enjoy the experience.

The tour is well organized and worth the price. Our driver, Noto, was very prompt--he picked us up on time (3:30 am), assisted us with the tickets, directed us on where to go and where he'll wait after. I highly recommend doing the sunrise tour for Borobudur. When you are blessed with a good weather, the views can be perfect. =) The crowd is just minimal cos we went off season and on a weekday. Also loved the breakfast buffet after. For the Merapi jeep tour, even though it was already cloudy when we arrived and didnt get to see the volcano, we still found the ride very enjoyable. Our jeep driver gave sufficient info/ description per place, accommodated our questions, and was also very keen in taking (nice) photos of us. =)

The agent contacted us via WhatsApp one day before the trip to confirm and offered an option to purchase Special Access Structure Tickets for Borobudur Temple. Our assigned guide/driver was Udik, who also messaged us via WhatsApp to introduce himself and reconfirm our pick-up time and location. Udik picked us up punctually and ensured our safe arrival at various attractions. He also kindly offered to take our pictures, which was a bonus. You will certainly have an enjoyable time with Udik as your guide/driver.
