I booked a two-day, one-night hotel package at the Park Hyatt on April 18, 2025, which included accommodation for two, breakfast for two, and a seafood buffet. I was full of anticipation for staying at this international five-star hotel, but the final experience left me disappointed, even worse than a small hotel. Firstly, during check-in, the front desk staff saw that my husband needed a crutch to get around, yet they unexpectedly assigned us to a room at the very end of the corridor, furthest from the elevator. Other hotels usually ask for guests' preferences before making arrangements, and this made us feel unvalued. However, when we arrived at the restaurant on time for our meal, instead of a warm welcome, we were informed that "the venue has been booked out today, so there's no buffet." At that moment, I wondered if I had made a mistake. After checking the order confirmation on my phone, I realized that although I had a reservation, I couldn't dine. This left me feeling helpless and angry. Subsequently, a manager named Iris came out to mediate but only took us to another floor to enjoy a very limited dinner selection, which was incomparable to a buffet. Iris eventually proposed several solutions: 1. Return to the hotel for a meal another day; 2. Go to the so-called more upscale lunch buffet across the street tomorrow at noon; 3. Refund part of the cost at a package discount price, meaning 350 yuan refunded from 488 yuan per person. I want to emphasize that this handling made me very disappointed. As a large hotel, the importance placed on customers should be higher, not just monetary compensation. That evening, a male manager came to our room to understand the situation. The next day, upon check-out, the lobby manager informed me that a Hong Kong manager named Mr. Luk would follow up later, and that was how the trip ended.
