Onsen Ryokan Yuen Shinjuku

What a peaceful place! from the start, this was a modern ryokan with a westernized feel. We were greeted with gentle music, low lights and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable. Rooftop onsen was amazing, with the option of outdoors to get that nice cool breeze and indoors with a skyline view as well. All hygiene products were supplied in the onsen. I felt safe with the ladies there, and we had an additional female swipe card for access. Hours of onsen are from 6am-10am and 3pm-2am. They also offer delicious popsicles in the onsen communal area. Highly recommended!

Everything is more than we expected. I read the reviews before booking but it doesn't give it justice. One should really try & get the most of the experience. It was really nice to book it at the end of our tokyo trip since we really needed to relax & rejuvenate. The staff we're all so courteous & friendly. The overall vibe of the place is so relaxing, the minute you enter the sliding door. You will feel like you're in a different world. No trace of the busy Tokyo. The interior of our room was so clean, loved the baskets for our towels. We enjoyed the onsen, while enjoying the night lights of the city. And to add to that we had free icecream at the end. Also tried the full course meal at dinner and it's to die for. We get to watch how they prepare each course. We emptied our plates everytime a course is served. We also had the traditional breakfast the next day and was so full to start our day. Everything was all worth it. Will gladly recommend, hopefully get to try it again next time.

tiny room, pretty far walk from trains nice to have a 711 right across from you, wouldnt chose to stay there again

Lovely experience at this ryokan. Staff was incredibly friendly. very peaceful environment and conveniently located. Rooms are very tiny if you are not used to it.

my absolute FAVORITE stay! I would stay here everytime I visit Tokyo. It was so close but yet far enough from the busy city. I felt so zen and calm everytime I enter our hotel. It was like a oasis in the middle of the city. BONUS that the 7/11 is literally across the street from the hotel! The hotel was so nice and impeccably clean and the staff is incredible. Our room was small, but surprisingly doable for 6 nights. The onsen was also amazing too!! Even though it was so hot & humid during our stay, it was nice to use the outside onsen on the rooftop at night. It was cold at night and being in the onsen felt like a nice warm blanket.

Of course! Instead of going 2 hours away to Hakone for a ryokan experience, you can get a more "modern" take on it in the heart of Shinjuku. The room is great, facilities too, and the staff are friendly. With English Support!

Very good Hotel. Everything is beautiful and clean. The rooms are a little bit tiny but its usual for Tokyo hotelrooms. The rooms are a little to dark. It is hard to aply make up or to shave your face as its hard to see in the mirror. You can not open the window but the AC is very good. The onsen is free to use. The next train stations are 10 minutes away by foot.

Great stay! The room is quite small and location far from train station. However, the room clean and had a great onsen experience! 👍

Great experience at this onsen in a central location in Tokyo! Only downside was the 10 minute walk to the metro, but the facilities make it worth it!
