Fantastic 5.0
The property is quite old but room and facilities are well maintained. The room is clean and spacious, and all the equipment work well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient with lots of food options in the vicinity, and there’s a pharmacy and a 7-Eleven outlet in front of the hotel. Breakfast quality is good, considering its reasonable price.

Fantastic 5.0
Stayed at St. Giles Wembley Penang and had a pleasant, comfortable stay. First, cleanliness is well up to standard. The room was tidy upon check-in, bedding and bathroom were spotless, and common areas like the lift lobby and pool deck are regularly maintained. It feels hygienic and well-kept, which is the baseline expectation for a city hotel. The location is the standout advantage. Situated on Jalan Magazine right in the heart of George Town, you’re literally minutes away from authentic local food. Walk 5–10 minutes and you’ll hit popular hawker streets, traditional kopitiams and well-known local restaurants – perfect if eating your way through Penang is your main plan. Komtar and nearby malls are also within walking distance for convenience. The hotel itself is decent, nothing overly fancy but fully functional and comfortable for leisure stays. It’s a reliable, good-value option for anyone prioritising location and cleanliness. Recommended for short leisure trips to Penang.

Very clean and new. Great value for the price. Good location. Just the shower water overflows out of the shower area and makes the whole bathroom floor wet but its not too big and issue.

Location was great, less than 10 mins walk to Chinatown. Hotel is quite new and modern, offered great views of the city with a beautiful rooftop pool. There is rooftop gym too, though small but was sufficient for a workout. The room was very clean and well equipped, comfy bedding, water pressure from shower was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, will recommend this hotel.

What to know before visiting George Town

Quick snapshot of George Town’s visitor draw

George Town’s Klook bookings cluster around outdoor and cultural experiences: parks & gardens, theme parks and observation decks lead the list, with museums and guided tours also popular. Demand rises and falls through the year, peaking in August and dipping around March, so the city’s rhythm alternates between busy summer weeks and quieter springtime periods.

Best times to visit based on demand and prices

Klook booking data show August as the busiest month and March as the quietest. Prices don’t move in lockstep with demand: July is typically the priciest month on Klook, while February usually records the lowest average prices. For lower prices and smaller crowds, consider visiting in February or March; for a lively, peak-season atmosphere aim for August (or July if you want peak buzz, though July tends to be pricier). Overall, demand and price sometimes diverge—expect the busiest month not always to be the most expensive.

Tips for travellers from the United States

Most travellers book close to arrival: Klook’s typical booking window here is about a day, with people often able to book last minute and some planning up to a week in advance. That makes George Town a good fit for flexible itineraries—secure popular time-sensitive experiences a few days ahead during August, but for many parks, observation decks and museum visits you can comfortably book a day or two out. Use Klook to check real-time availability and lock in plans quickly when you know your travel dates.
