Madrid Day trips

Join the Toledo and Segovia tour, which includes admission tickets to the Alcazar and Segovia Cathedral. It also features an optional traditional Spanish roast suckling pig lunch (can be added later) and a stop to visit the city of Avila. Departure is at 07:30 AM. The tour guide, JJ, was extremely informative and provided very substantive commentary. Upon arriving in Toledo, the bus stops for panoramic photos before heading into the city for a walking tour. Because we had to mind the schedule, it felt a bit rushed. We stopped at a souvenir shop to watch a craftsman demonstration (no pressure to buy) and use the restroom. After that, we headed to Segovia to see the aqueduct, followed by lunch around 2:00 PM. (If visiting on a weekday, I think you could skip the meal-inclusive option and easily dine at regular restaurant prices instead.) Next, we visited the Segovia Cathedral and then the Alcazar. Finally, we stopped to see Avila, starting with a panoramic viewpoint as usual, followed by a city walk. The guide provided great information the entire time, which was wonderful. Once finished, we returned to Madrid around 8:30 PM. It was a truly worthwhile day that covered all the highlights. However, I recommend keeping in mind that this tour involves a lot of walking. Some areas are sloped or have uneven surfaces, so you should wear shoes and clothing suitable for extensive walking. Since the tour moves at a fairly fast pace, elderly travelers with limited mobility may want to reconsider.

A must-see landmark in Madrid. While it’s a quick visit, the atmosphere, history, and welcoming people make it memorable.

Julia was wonderful , she explained every detail and make sure everyone was in a group before proceeding to another room

our tour guide Laura was very knowledgeable. she took pains to explain all the sights in Ávila and Segovia to us. lovely trip and highly recommended!

The palace itself was beautiful. The tour was insightful as well! Hassle-free and efficient.

Throughout the entire tour, the guides, Elena and Jose Luis, were incredibly well-prepared, engaging, careful, and attentive at all times. They are 1000 out of 10 recommended! The tour itself was excellent. The only issue was the bus; I'm not sure if it was because there were so many of us or if it was a hot day, but the air conditioning just couldn't keep up. We were quite uncomfortable as we could barely feel the AC.

Alejandro was very helpful throughout the entire trip. At the meeting point on Gran Vía, he gave clear instructions on where to wait, making everything easy from the start. Even though he had to repeat information several times, he remained patient and professional. During the bus ride, he shared interesting facts about the places we visited and even showed us news articles on his phone, which was a thoughtful extra effort, especially on a Sunday. The trip from Madrid to Segovia was well-guided—he showed us the aqueduct, the Alcázar, and other picturesque spots while sharing useful details about the city. He also recommended good restaurants and suggested visiting a free museum, which was a great tip. Alejandro was polite, respectful, and attentive to the group, making sure everyone was comfortable and informed, including giving time for restroom breaks. Overall, he did an excellent job, and I would gladly join another tour with him in the future.

The museum itself is very new and clean, with spacious corridors that make for a comfortable visit. Some exhibition rooms have chairs, so you can sit and rest if you get tired. The tour guide was very professional, arriving early to wait for us, and was very friendly and humorous. Their explanations were lively, often involving animated gestures and a loud voice (they even got told off by the museum staff for being too loud 😂), like telling a story to children, which was very entertaining. They were also very familiar with the museum's layout, ensuring no repeated routes. The entire guided tour lasted over two hours, and I myself stayed for another two hours (and still didn't see everything). If you want to explore thoroughly, you should plan for 3 to 5 hours, or even longer. After entering and clearing security, remember to pick up a tour brochure first; it will help you locate important works when you explore on your own.

The morning check‑in was very comfortable. While other tours were registering outside, Big Bus had a proper office with seating and restrooms, which made the start of the day much smoother. The coach was large, clean, and extremely comfortable for just 11 guests, and the driving was careful throughout. Danny was truly exceptional—warm, friendly, and full of engaging explanations at every stop. His guidance made the entire day feel safe, relaxed, and far more enjoyable than anything I could have experienced on my own. Thanks to him and our driver, the tour was meaningful, smooth, and wonderfully organized. I also loved the tour design, which allowed us to explore key sites with Danny and then enjoy the town on our own afterward. Thank you for a fantastic experience. ガイド：Danny
