Australia just reopened to the world and we’ve got you covered with the latest travel requirements!

After two years of waiting, Australia has finally reopened its international borders to the world! They welcomed back travelers last February 21, 2022, and it was a sight to see and remember at the Sydney Airport as families reunited and travelers got to explore again. There were “Welcome Back” banners, loud music, and a kangaroo mascot to cheer for everyone entering the country. While the pandemic has battered Australia’s tourism, this border reopening is their way to get back what they have lost in the past two years.
And with that, we’re here to help you prepare for your next trip to Australia!

    Who can travel to Australia?

Anyone! You no longer have to show proof of full vaccination. Just make sure you have a valid visa.
As for unvaccinated visa holders, obtaining a travel exemption is no longer required. But you may be required to go into quarantine depending on the state or territory of your arrival in Australia.

    What are the travel requirements?

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are no more Covid-19 requirements that you will need to prepare and submit when entering and leaving Australia.
Although the idea of traveling again is so exciting, flying to Australia (and probably to most parts of the world) means prepping some travel requirements. Here’s what you’ll need before your flight to Australia:
    1. G2G Pass
If you’re looking to visit Western Australia and you’re aged 16+, you should first apply for a G2G Pass. Here’s the process:
    • Visit the G2G Pass website and click on “Start your application now.’
    • Follow the prompts to create an account.
    • Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
    • Complete the final declaration and click ‘Submit.’
    • Download the G2G Pass app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store so you can track your application, store your pass, and register your entry to Western Australia upon arrival.
    • Wait for an email regarding your application and a copy of your registered G2G Pass and associated QR Code.
    2. Proof of recent recovery from Covid-19
This only applies to travelers who got the virus and recovered from it within the last 30 days before the scheduled flight. You no longer need to present a pre-departure Covid-19 test for as long as you’re able to provide a certificate from your medical practitioner at check-in with all the information detailed below:
    • The day the certificate is given (must be within 30 days of the flight)
    • A statement saying that the traveler has had Covid-19 but already recovered and is not considered to be infectious
    • The date when there was first a positive result of an accepted Covid-19 test for the traveler
    • A statement which says that on the day the certificate is given: it’s been at least 7 days since there was a first positive result of an accepted Covid-19 test and if the person had symptoms of Covid-19 — the traveler has not had a fever, or respiratory symptoms of the virus, in the last 72 hours

Any final reminders I need to take note of?

    • From 9 Sept 2022, you are no longer required to wear a mask on your flight to Australia
Now that you know all the travel restrictions and requirements, you can finally start planning for your trip to Australia!
