Taipei Exhibition｜Yayoi Kusama’s Trajectory and Miracle W Collection & More 1951-2005

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, and it was nothing short of mesmerizing. The exhibition offered a deep dive into Kusama's world, showcasing her iconic polka dots, vibrant pumpkins, and the renowned Infinity Mirror Rooms. One of the standout experiences was the "Infinity Mirrored Room - Filled with the Brilliance of Life." This installation enveloped visitors in a mesmerizing display of lights and reflections, creating a sense of being in an endless, luminous universe. The timed entry allowed for a personal and intimate experience, making it all the more special .​ The Standard Another highlight was the "Obliteration Room," an interactive space where visitors could place colorful dot stickers on a completely white room, transforming it into a vibrant explosion of color. This participatory piece beautifully captured Kusama's theme of self-obliteration and the power of collective creativity. The exhibition also provided insights into Kusama's early works, including her "Infinity Nets" and "Narcissus Garden." The latter, featuring hundreds of reflective spheres, invited introspection and engagement, allowing viewers to see themselves within the art . Overall, the exhibition was a testament to Kusama's genius and her ability to create art that transcends boundaries. Whether you're an art enthusiast or a casual visitor, this exhibition is a captivating journey into a world of color, reflection, and infinite possibilities.

Compared to the exhibition in Melbourne, this one in Taipei is a bit small with less artwork to see. But with only 380 NTD, it was worth it. I enjoyed watching the exhibition and the staff was helpful.

This is one of the few exhibitions that focuses on #Kusama’s works from 1951 to 2005. Kusama came to the United States alone in her early days to develop her career. From the beginning, she was not taken seriously and was even published by many big names in the name of "inspiration". The style of her works, which suffered from physical and mental torture due to multiple factors, is rather gloomy. However, she also caught up with the anti-war hippie culture in the United States and gradually became famous for her bold street performances. It's just that although her too avant-garde style has become somewhat famous, she was still not welcomed back in Japan. However, due to her passion for art and her continuous accumulation of creations, as well as her increasingly bright colors, she gradually gained popularity in Japan and has now become one of everyone's favorite Japanese artists. Although some people once classified her into pop art and avant-garde art school, Kusama herself believes that she does not belong to any one school, just the Kusama school. Such a unique and energetic Kusama, even though she is already in her 90s, is still It’s hard not to love Queen Dot who continues to paint and uses her works to convey the idea of love.

Other than that, the audience is very good. Yayoi Kusama is quiet and very personal. The distinctive polka dot pattern and bright colors create an art space full of fantasy and surrealism. It really looks like you will be sucked in by the polka dots. It is very cool. I wanted to go to Japan to see it before, but I didn’t expect that it is also available in Taiwan. It is really worth visiting. Yayoi Ma's creations are at once crazy, profound and tender. Walking into the exhibition is like stepping into a colorful and imaginative world of polka dots. It is worth experiencing for everyone who loves art and polka dots. The film is also very crazy and almost like a cult. Love his work!

I happened to have some free time, so I made a reservation and went there. My ticket was for 10am, but I arrived after 10am, so people who had already entered the performance had already gone ahead, and I was able to take photos at the monument without any people in the way. After 11am, it became lively with local elementary school students doing some extracurricular activities. There were so many goods that I was fascinated by!

It was a great exhibition and it was easy to get it using the Klook ticket. this exhibition is easily accessible by public transportation. Only the main inflatable black and pick sculpture people are allowed to photograph.
