Taking the Port Stephens tour during our trip to Sydney was definitely one of the best decisions we made.
Thanks to our guide, Kim Tae-young, the travel time flew by as we enjoyed his comfortable explanations. He clearly explained how to navigate each stop, so even though it was our first time there, everything was easy to follow.
On the dolphin-watching cruise, which we were most looking forward to, we were lucky enough to see three dolphins! 🐬 Seeing them appear right out in the ocean was much more fascinating and fun than we expected. Even my child said it was the most memorable moment of the trip.
Sandsurfing down the sand dunes in the desert was also a blast.
It was a bit scary at first because it was faster than expected, but after trying it once, it was so much fun that we wanted to go again. If you are traveling with children, I highly recommend trying it!
At Oakvale Wildlife Park, it was a unique treat to see koalas and kangaroos up close and even touch them.
Seeing and experiencing them in person is definitely different from just looking at photos. Families traveling with children will likely find this especially satisfying.
And personally, the most surprisingly special place was the winery.
I thought it would just be a quick stop, but the atmosphere was lovely and it gave us a relaxing break in the middle of the tour, which made it very memorable. Rather than just being filled with nature, animals, and activities, including a winery made the day feel quite fulfilling.
From dolphin watching and desert sledding to the zoo and the winery, we were able to experience so much in just one day. For first-timers to Port Stephens, taking a guided tour seems like a great way to go.
I especially recommend this itinerary for a family trip to Sydney with kids.
There was never a dull moment throughout the day as we experienced various activities, and overall, we were completely satisfied :)

This is a long distance trip, with well planned stops that make it enjoyable. I liked that it brings out the Australian care for wild lives: the dolphins are beautiful, the koalas are well taken care off. The finale sand boarding was super fun!

The tour was soooo good! Our guide was super friendly, shared lots of fun stories throughout the day, and even helped us take photos everywhere we went. The camel riding and sandboarding were definitely the highlights of the trip and one of the best experiences you can have around Sydney. 4 Pines was also great! Lunch was included, and I chose the steak—it was really good. The wine tasting was amazing too. I ended up trying so many different wines that I got a little tipsy lol. Thanks to Shirley, our tour guide!

Overall, it was a very fun and unique tour! The dolphin-watching cruise was especially memorable, and the beautiful scenery and desert experience at Port Stephens were truly amazing.
However, I would like to leave a few helpful tips for future participants.
First, the dolphin cruise and swim experience. We were advised to bring swimsuits, so I thought we would get to swim in the ocean. In reality, it is an experience where you sit in a net attached to the back of the boat while it moves. It is completely different from regular swimming, so keep that in mind if you are planning to pack a swimsuit. Personally, just seeing the dolphins was satisfying enough.
Second, lunch and the winery visit. Personally, I think it would have been better if we could have had pizza at the winery instead of the bibimbap lunch included in the tour. I recommend checking in advance how much free time is given at the winery and whether there is enough time to order and eat food.
P.S. Regardless of small gifts, I hope travelers can freely and voluntarily share their honest experiences. 👍

Our tour guide and driver, Gordon, was incredibly professional. Along the way, he introduced us to the architecture of the cities we passed through and provided fascinating geographical and historical explanations about the areas we visited. His driving was very smooth, and he was always punctual. The tour itself was also very enjoyable. I brought my family along to experience dolphin watching (we succeeded!), and we all had a blast sandboarding. Everyone loved it, highly recommended! ✌️

Super fun experience! We started with the lower slope and slowly worked our way up to the higher areas, which was great for beginners. My 6-year-old son had such a great time that he didn’t want to leave! Definitely an activity the whole family can enjoy.

Sandboarding at Anna Bay was a blast! The dunes are massive, the guide gave us a quick lesson, and we spent the morning sliding down over and over. Pickup and the 4WD ride were smooth. Definitely a must-do at Port Stephens.
