Things to do in Miyakojima Island

There are many options for groups looking for sea turtles. I was lucky to meet Taku, a snorkeling guide. He was very nice, professional and gentle. The key point was that there were only two of us, so we were completely VIP. We took a lot of photos and met sea turtles. It was a perfect trip!

Before the trip, I checked the weather forecast and it said it was going to rain, so I didn't make a reservation in advance, but I checked the weather at the destination and made a reservation the day before. I highly recommend this tour company and opportunity if you visit Miyakojima! Taku was my tour guide and he did a fantastic job! Taku made sure we were comfortable with using the equipment and had safety floatation device on hand. During the tour, he takes videos and photos of you experiencing the Miyako sea life! He also sends you the photos and videos after the tour. Taku is an experienced swimmer and knows the way to keep tourists safe in the water! He has excellent soft skills, and patience, and verifies that you understand what is about to happen next. The tour company provides life jacket, flippers, goggles, and snorkeling tube for you to use on the tour, no need to buy them. Even though it was low tide, we were able to see a sea turtle! Taku also knows where the anemones are located and will take you to see Nemo! My only complaint is that I wish they would offer a 4 hour or 8 hour tour because it is soooo much fun! Meeting point is at the parking lot near Shigira Beach.

Our family of 7 went on a tour with the handsome Mashi! He speaks a little Korean and we had no problem communicating in English!! All the equipment looked like high-end equipment so we were reassured!! ⭐️I was impressed by the tube with goggles for a 5-year-old child ⭐️I was impressed by how kind he was from the beginning and how he kept checking on everyone..! ▪️I was so touched by how he struggled to take our best photos with the GoPro ㅠㅠ Even though there were a lot of people, he proceeded like a professional so we didn't have any difficulties!! I was able to see the best sea turtles! The tour proceeds with two spots, one is a sea turtle point, and a snorkeling spot a little further away! If you do not request a pick-up, they will give you a refund of 1000 yen. You do not need to bring your own equipment, and since this is a beach without a separate shower room, it would be good to simply bring a towel and a boxy tee or one-piece dress to wear on top. They also took a lot of pictures for you, and it was nice that they sent the pictures right away via KakaoTalk!!! It was the best experience. Thank you!
