Kyoto: Arashiyama Bamboo, Matcha, Monkeys & Temple Tour

This is a must do when in Kyoto and have little time. My 70 year old mon and I joined tour. Majo and Tim were just fantastic! We saw 3 major, incredible Kyoto sites, received macha ice cream, tasted saki, and took several photos. My mom did the hike to Iwatayama mountain, bring good shoes, water. Luckily we had the best weather. Wouldn’t recommend in high, hot temperatures for children and elderly.

This tour was so peaceful and one of my best. There is a lot of walking but worth every step. The serenity of this tour is amazing. Every sight is breathtaking and the guide, Time had so much knowledge. The monkey farm was a hike, but the view from the top was amazing and the monkeys were adorable. A must do tour.

Gabi was an excellent guide and took care of our group making sure we were comfortable! He explained about Shintoism/Buddhism and even took pictures for us which was very nice. Highly recommend checking out his favorite lunch spot after the tour too!

Amy was out guide and was wonderful! she explained everything and answered all our questions. she was kind and considerate to our needs and was flexible. she was also genuinely caring obout our experience and sharing the Japanese culture and traditions was a joy for her. highly recommend

We had the best experience with Gabriele as our guide. He was so patient with us as we were with a toddler and there were so many steps and ramps and he was so helpful throughout with the stroller as well. Very well informed and also very friendly. Totally recommend him as your guide if you are coming to kyoto aarashiyama and monkey park!

We had a wonderful experience on our Kyoto excursion with Tim and his assistant Nyak. Tim was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind—he never rushed us and made sure everyone felt included and informed throughout the tour. His attention to detail and storytelling made each stop come alive. We also appreciated the thoughtful restaurant recommendations afterward! Nyak was helpful and attentive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour and team!

Tim was a fantastic tour guide. He was super knowledgeable and made the early start worth it! He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The visits to the shops for samples was appreciated too.

Had a wonderful and easy experience on this tour thanks to our guides Tim and Katherine. We did an earlier timeslot at 8:30a and felt it was perfect. You start before the major crowds get in. Tim was so fun and provided very interesting context of the culture and history in the area. He was very accommodating and easy to talk to. Thank you so much!
